In this episode, Abby and Ellie’s witty banter includes but is not limited to: this school year lasting forever, firefighting, being sweaty, and so on.
Then, Abby dives into the sad story of Ruth Ellis, a woman who was discriminated against for being 1. A woman, 2. “Lower Class” and 3. A sex-worker. Ruth, who struggled with abusive relationships with men, snapped one night. Her story is a sad tale for women everywhere. CW for pregnancy loss and suicide.
Finally, Ellie discusses some historic fires, their failures, and the safety measures that we now have in place as a result of these terrifying tragedies. CW for death of children.

Abby and Ellie haven't seen each other for a WHILE in this episode, which is why our witty banter and updates last until about the 17:00 mark. Ellie discusses a hilarious fire chief and Abby whines about a short summer vacation that feels so far away. There's something for everyone in this episode: movie trivia, a roadkill pit?!, a throwback 2009 Folger's Coffee Commercial, some French Revolution history, and so much more we can't cram it all into the show notes!
Due to a misread text, Abby had to watch this travesty twice in two days so she considers herself an expert on the topic. Abby and Ellie discuss the big 2005 vibes of House of Wax. Juicy Couture velour sweat suits, Chad Michael Murry miscast as a brother instead of a boyfriend, Jared Padelecki pre Supernatural, Disturbed and My chemical Romance on the soundtrack, and more.
Then, Abby discusses the bloody history of Madame Toussad and her Wax Museum. We also, of course, in true QFF fashion, discuss the controversies that surround them: the royal family wax figures, whitewashed Beyonce, and an inaccurate depiction of Nicki Minaj just to name a few. Enjoy the spooky vibes and comedic relief we offer in this movisode and don't burn the house down when you stream House of Wax!

In this episode we go over a quick history of the Satanic Panic of the 1980s and 1990s, Satanic Ritual Abuse and a few cases that cite it, but most specifically, the San Antonio Four case that wove together both the Satanic Panic and homophobia in a successful effort to wrongfully convict four women in Texas of abuse.

In this episode, we celebrate our annual Besties Trip! We're going to Maine, everybody! In preparation for the trip, Abby discusses the Wood Island Lighthouse's real life horrifying terrors and rumored paranormal events and secrets. She tops it off with a wholesome story about a dog we don't deserve. Then, Ellie drags (it's an aviation joke, do you get it?) the mood down by talking about some horrifying plane crashes (right before we get onto our flight to Maine, but go off, queen) caused by hubris and not following Aviation Rules, which we assume is a real thing and not something we just made up for the description.
