RJ Huebert, a Pennsylvania native, started his marketing career in the Tampa Bay / St. Petersburg area after finishing graduate school at the University of South Florida. It was there that he decided to put his entrepreneurial instincts to work by creating, organizing, and marketing several 5K races. The excitement and sense of accomplishment he received from developing these events fueled his passion for eventually starting his own marketing firm. In 2019, a few years after returning back to the Pittsburgh area, he launched HBT Digital Consulting.

RJ’s firm specializes in digital marketing services, which encompasses online ad spend, social media marketing, email marketing, and search engine advertising. He differentiates his boutique agency on the basis of offering customized and premium services to his clients. HBT Digital Consulting’s “digital” positioning means that they are focused on ad tracking, results measurement, and return on investment. In this episode, RJ talks about how to collaborate with competitors and why creating and organizing an event can be a great test of entrepreneurial skills.
