The minister’s wife heard of the gossip about her and wanted to show the other ladies that she’s blameless, simply because of how handsome Yusuf is. She invites them and shows them, Yusuf. Matters get worse for Yusuf, to the point that he asks Allah to protect him from their schemes. Eventually, he ends up in prison where people see his good conduct and immense, God-given knowledge.
