Conversation with Author Susan Gold - Toxic Family: Transforming Childhood Trauma
07/20/23 • 55 min
Susan Gold was raised in a challenging and chaotic family system, the middle child of five. To fully thrive, she bravely chose to meet the demons of her upbringing that were continuing to repeat. Her book, Toxic Family: Transforming Childhood Trauma into Adult Freedom is about that journey.
In a small rural town in central Pennsylvania, young Susie is facing trauma as the middle child in a violent and chaotic household. Her brilliant, alcoholic, astrophysicist father and equally ingenious mentally ill, home-making mother have collided in dysfunction. Creating five children in short succession with covert and overt abuse running rampant.
A riveting and intense chronicle of a childhood filled with harsh initiations all led to a masterful and thought-provoking transformation. The ebullient belief and determination of a young girl with a vision who would not bend to self-destruct but rather would convert her experience to triumph are told masterfully in this stunning work.
Susan leaves us with support and practical tools she uses today to move forward. Centered around each sections theme: breathwork, journaling, meditation, movement, all combined in a creative healing process. She is leading retreats, webinars, workshops and private sessions to help others drop outdated storylines and programming in exchange for living from the heart in authentic freedom as adults.

Conversation with Dr. Rev. Ahmondra McClendon - The Uncrowned Queen Reclaims Her Throne
Dr. Rev. Ahmondra McClendon holds a Master of Social Work Degree from San Francisco State University and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from New York Theological Seminary. With thirty-five + years in human service delivery, she has a unique perspective on life.
Although her life is in harmony now, it wasn't always. For years she existed within The Legacy of Silence, a generational pattern of behavior. Opening a window into a world where Black Women suffer in silence, she uncovers the strength, courage, and resiliency they exhibit while facing childhood trauma, domestic violence, drug addiction, and paralyzing grief. A passionate advocate for healing, she offers a pathway to freedom from the African Diaspora who wonder why they live with silenced voices and hurting hearts.
She created The Original Queens Sacred Community to facilitate change and strengthen the bonds of sistahood. "This Community is our tribe and a safe space to speak truths, recognize triumphs, and share unconditional love as we heal generational pain and trauma."
The Uncrowned Queen Reclaims Her Throne, When a Black Woman Breaks the Silence, is a must-read for Black Women of all ages seeking to better understand themselves and their ancestral heritage and those interested in learning more about their challenges.
"Holding hands and standing on the shoulders of our ancestors, we can guide each other out of the dark world of secrets into the daylight of truth. Together we can reclaim our Thrones and break the Legacy of Silence" Dr. Ahmondra

Conversation with Traci Hill - Subtle Energy Alchemist
Traci A Hill is a coach who specializes in helping people heal physically by raising vibrations and releasing negative emotions and attachments using subtle energy. Using several techniques, she has learned how to allow healing to anyone as long as they are ready.
Hill was finishing up her master’s degree in Kinesiology and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Being a self-described "health freak", this news was frightening. Doctors told her she would be in a wheelchair the rest of her life if she didn't take medication. Her diagnosis came on the heels of becoming a Chicago Firefighter.
“I felt the pressure to not only put out fires at work but also within my own body. I chose to figure out how to heal myself through food, exercise and eventually dealing with my emotions. I learned that emotions create blockages in the body on a subtle level. The more negative emotions we stuff down, the deeper the wounds go. I decided to help myself by energetically releasing trapped and ancestral emotions so that my cellular bodies could heal. As suppressed emotions left my body, the healing began.”
The physical body is the result of our vibrations that are inherent within each of us but also picked up from people and the environment around us. Tuning in and adjusting our vibration to match that which you desire, requires change but will ultimately lead you to that which you truly want in life - love, peace, joy and abundance.
