Join us as we dive into the world of Amazon optimization with Kamal, the CEO and founder of AMZOneStep. With a wealth of experience in e-commerce and as a member of the Forbes Council, Kamal shares invaluable insights on how to optimize Amazon listings for increased sales, ranking, reviews, and profits.
Key Takeaways:
1.The Importance of Main Images: Kamal emphasized the critical role of the main product image in driving click-through rates on Amazon. He advised sellers to break the pattern of their competitors' images and to continuously split test their main images to ensure they stand out in search results.2. Split Testing: Sellers should regularly split test their main images, as well as their other creatives and A+ content, to avoid leaving money on the table. Tools like PICFU, IntelliView, and Amazon's own manager experiments can be used for this purpose.
3. Visual References: When creating infographics and lifestyle images, it's important to use visual references that customers can relate to. For example, showing how many items a product can hold rather than just listing dimensions can be more effective.4. Amazon TOS Compliance: Kamal warned against making claims or using prohibited keywords in listing images, as this can lead to issues with Amazon's terms of service. He also recommended having a backup main image ready in case Amazon flags the primary one.

Well, we sure appreciate you joining us here. And before I talk over setup again, we'll let him say hello, go.
Sets are I was just saying, we're excited to have you, Jason. We spent a lot of time there, The seller party that we through there and Vegas right after Prosper. got to know you some. And we just knew, at that moment, we had to have you on the podcast. We were able to follow up with you last week, Jason, and we've already got you on a live recording. This is amazing.

Right, so I know that when we were picking your brain a little bit in Vegas a few weeks ago, you had some pretty good insights of opportunities that Amazon sellers are missing out on, and also some mistakes that you see Amazon sellers make. so since you, Wow. Zephaniah Vegas give us some of that Wow. Factor here on the podcast, Jason?

Post Purchase PRO Podcast - Episode Four - The Slippery Slope Marketing Effect
Post Purchase PRO - Profitable Email Marketing For Amazon Sellers
07/12/21 • 25 min
0:04
This is the post purchase pro podcast, episode four.
0:08
Soon. you're buying something you didn't even know existed yesterday. Now, that's what I call a slippery slope effect.
0:19
Welcome to episode four today. We're talking about the quote unquote, slippery slope.
0:24
Now I'll give you my definition, Seth. We always talk about the slippery slope.
0:29
And we're going to jump in today into details, and we're going to dissect the slippery slope.
0:35
What it means for your business give you some real-life examples, most of both in personal life and in your business life.
0:41
But my definition, off the cuff Seth is a slippery slope to me is a systematic step by step approach, design where one small and simple, little step makes the next necessary step easy to start.
0:58
And each subsequence step becomes easier to start and hopefully finish.
1:04
How do you define your slippery slope surf?
1:07
Yeah, I thought, I love this concept because, if you can, get this in your head.
1:12
If you can think about falling down a slope or your customers falling into a slope that slippery, and think about making each step simple, so, it's easy for them to get, kind of, into our, into our falling motion, then you can sure do a lot better in your marketing. You get a lot better results.
1:32
So, I define a slippery slope as a process of events that are easy for a customer to take, and gets them more and more invested in, completing that process as they go along.
1:42
So if you can get them to step over a small hurdle and another small hurdle, and another small hurdle in the buying process, you'll get them a lot further along.
1:52
Then if you just stacked all your, Your processes up into one big hurdle, because if they if they get to a page or if they they get to a step in your marketing and it's difficult or there's a lot of stuff to do, a lot of times a customer would have stop, right, John?
2:08
Yeah, Exactly. You know, in the psychological word world, rather, I think you've also read the book, The Child Leni, book, about the psychology of influence and whatnot. I think there are 2 3 iterations of that, but, you know, in psychology and psychological sales systems, we always refer to this as commitment and consistency.
2:30
And, you know, it's funny to me that once a buyer, or, you know, whether it's in a sales environment or a personal environment, what someone makes, a commitment to do something, or act on something, or accept something, It seems that we, as humans, once we make that commitment, will go to almost any length to not only prove to ourselves that we made the right decision, but also prove to those around us, because we just don't want to look like food. So, how many times says, can you think of you've seen a cousin, or an uncle, or, or a friend in school?
3:04
Get exposed to some kind of scam, or some con artist, got into him.
3:09
And I seen it over and over as I was growing up, to where, you know, once this con man would get you to spend a little bit of money, then, you know, you're looking at this from the outside, and you're saying, Gosh, Charlie, why or how could you be so stupid? Why do you just keep giving this guy money?
3:24
And what happens is, in Charlie's mine, who's a fictitious person, once I've committed and made that initial investment, I will go to almost any length to prove to myself, make myself, feel, better, make those around me, look at me as I made the right decision. And even if that means throwing bad money after bad money. How many times have you seen this happen?
3:45
And the person, the victim will always think to themselves, well, if I just stay close to this person at some point, I may have the opportunity to get even or get my money back. We see it in an in

Post Purchase PRO Podcast - Episode Twenty One - The Origin Story 1 Of 5
Post Purchase PRO - Profitable Email Marketing For Amazon Sellers
11/15/21 • 23 min
This is the post purchase Pro podcast, episode 21, season two.
My business was only two years old. We did $27 million in the final nine months and it sold that business from just over $13 million to private equity.
Guys, welcome to The Post Purchase Pro podcast. This is episode 21, a brand new season, starts our season two of our podcast. Today. It's gonna be 1 of 5 in a series that we're doing about the origin story of our business career guy. Super excited to, to bring to you guys a story of why post purchase marketing matters so much to us.
All of the, the holes that we fell in, along the way, all the mistakes that we made, but then we're going to share with you how we can jump over them now and the successes that we're experiencing after many, many failures, Shawn?
Exactly, so welcome to season two everyone. Thank you for your trust, in your time and attention.
In this episode 21, we're going to talk about our origin story and, it kinda, just because I'm about 17 years older than Seth or so, it makes my origin story have to proceed his. So, we'll find out more about Sets, smoothies and Pokemon cards later, we hope. But it all started for me, when I was a teenager of 16 years old.
I was selling roses, and, know the thing about the rose businesses that, once you cut arose, you can't put it back on the rose tree set, so it was a perishable business.
It didn't really fit in very well with my lazy sort of personality as a teenager, but what we did, Seth, is we would import fresh cut flowers directly from the farmers on the growers in South America. And then myself and my team, and later on, my wholesalers would go out and sell these flowers like on the side of the road and in the van.
And things like that, that I share on some of our earlier webinars and whatnot.
So the reason I wanted to go all the way back to Rosa Seth is because when we were selling roses, it became painfully obvious to myself and our employees of the We didn't really call the customer base or customer list.
It was sort of a route, you know, like, for example, we would sell on this location on Wednesday, over here on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, And what happened was we were able to generate a following, and that following would look for us to be any separate locations. Now, obviously, set, I was creating a customer base and a fall winter customer list. But we just didn't poll that. We call it the route It'd be. Like, I had my once they spot a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
And then, you know, the holidays. it was kind of every man for himself.
So it didn't really become obvious until later when I would kind of, uh, deviate, if you will, away from my route that our sales would would suffer.
Because what we didn't realize was we had repeat customers who were buying every week, remember, roses are perishable.
So, you know, if you knew that every other Friday, you could count on the guy being down at the street or at the exit ramps on roses, Then you would just kinda make it a habit, you know, to bring your wife's roses.
So, it was there set that I realize, Now, looking back, the value of delivering a good quality product, and having a following, quote, unquote, customer list.
Yeah, Shawn, And also, you also learn the power of traffic, right?
3:40
Literal traffic, and having, like, the same relationship with the same people over and over and over again.
3:48
So, you know, you're 16 years old, you're understanding traffic, and you're starting to understand the value of a relationship with your customers. So let's jump in, John. I know we have a lot to cover.
3:59
Yeah.
4:00
Roses was funny, you know, it was a great first business, because, you know, when you had a

Post Purchase PRO Podcast - Episode Thirty - Build, Nurture, Profit
Post Purchase PRO - Profitable Email Marketing For Amazon Sellers
01/17/22 • 10 min
This is the post purchase Pro podcast, Episode 30.
Your buyers on Amazon are real people. And when treated like real people, they're willing to buy more from you and for a longer period of time.
Welcome guys to the Post Purchase Pro podcast, episode 30 today. We're gonna be giving you a high level overview of our kind of our motto around here here, Build, nurture, and profit. So if you think about what we're doing every single day, Sean, it's post purchase marketing and what's that all about? It's about building real relationships with their customers, nurturing those relationships and providing more value. So it's genuine and then profiting from that ongoing.
Yeah, for sure, so, obviously safe.
As you know, and as those of you listening, watching out there, owning the customer list for your business, It's only the first step.
Albeit, it's a very important step because, especially in any direct sales business, the customer list is the most valuable asset of the business. It's not the vendor relationships. It's not the trademarks. It's not the trade dress in. Most cases, it's the customer list, right?
Your buyers on Amazon are real people. And when treated like real people, they're willing to buy more from you for a longer period of time.
19:03
All we have to do said is give them the opportunity to do more business, and it all starts with the customer list.
Yeah, and on Amazon, Sean, it's even more important like building a list of your real customers.
E-mail, and phone numbers, is the only marketing asset that an Amazon seller can own and leverage to produce results forever without any additional costs. Like Amazon's got us on this train ride where they're just trying to keep us addicted to their ad platform. They're always rolling out a new way to advertize. But what does advertising mean?
Means that we have to pay them money to make a sale, right. So, they're extracting more and more dollars from us by releasing headline ads and sponsored ads, and, you know, off of Amazon, retargeting ads, like, that's all great. And it does increase sales, but think about, every single time that you do that, you're paying the money and you're reducing your profit.
So, building a customer list of your real customers that want to do more business with you, that you can, like, what's the incremental cost of sending in additional e-mails on it? It's like nothing.
Like you penny and low quantity.
Yeah, So, you can, it's like media that you can engage at no cost, It's ads that you can run, basically, at no cost forever like you own, that. Do you own the traffic forever?
So, as an Amazon seller, it's kind of silly that we would ignore the only free source of ongoing traffic, But it's obviously not the best thing for Amazon, because Amazon gets paid every time you buy one of their ads. But if you can control the traffic, it's the best for your business.
So, we often talk about our mantra, as you said, in the, the title of this podcast episode is Build nurture Profits, but just think about that for a moment.
You cannot profit until you nurture.
But, again, you cannot nurturer until you bill.
So, we have to do it in this order.
First, we build, all right. We have a list that we're building, collecting, harvesting, whatever you want to call it.
We nurture that list, right?
further enhancing the relationship and then we profit from the list, but not out of order.
If you profit first, before you nurture, guess what? You never have an opportunity to nurture.&a
