All “Bad” things must come to an end. Join James, Kat, and David for the epic conclusion of the Walter White saga. Popcorn Theology - 091: Spider-Man: Homecoming
play

07/10/17 • 91 min

Richard and David went straight from the theater directly to the recording studio (otherwise known as David's Spare Room) to chat about the phenomenal new Marvel flick, Spider-Man: Homecoming! This movie was a lot of fun, and in the area of discussion prompts it does not disappoint!

We got to chat about what it means when we say that our bodies belong to the Lord, being content with roles and seasons of life that seem less than spectacular, the balance between doing what is right and honoring authority that is placed over us when we disagree with their idea of what is best, and a lot more!

Popcorn Theology - Episode 130: Jurassic Park
play

06/06/18 • 70 min

Richard, David, and James are joined by Dr. Marcus Ross, paleontologist and professor at Liberty University in order to discuss the classic and widely beloved film, Jurassic Park!

We chatted about what has caused this movie to stand the test of time. Dr. Ross managed to ruin Richard's childhood by dispelling some of the ways in which the film is scientifically inaccurate. We then jumped into the meat of the movie, discussing several themes the movie prompts us to consider - ethics and science being a key consideration!

We hope to have Dr. Ross back on with us in the near future in order to cover the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, so be sure to check back!

Popcorn Theology - Episode 367: Wicked (Part 1)
play

12/10/24 • 91 min

This week our hosts Miles, James & Kat defy watching mindlessly as they cover Wicked: Part 1. This beloved musical is overflowing with fruitful topics to discuss. Many people have bemoaned the rise of the “villain as misunderstood victim” story, yet our hosts found subtlety and valuable truth throughout this film. Among these truths are the folly of the unexamined life, how we can all be tempted by the desire to be popular, and how this story echoes elements of the greatest story of all.
