In this episode, I did something a bit different and share a project that was done around this time (the Holy week), five years ago. The band is called Mercy and the name of the project is I am Victorious. My writing partner Archbishop and Captain Chaplain Christine Mercy Johnson and I wrote and produced this album. Kim Copeland also served as the music producer. Majorly I discussed the process behind four songs and also shared the songs all on the dHarmic evolution podcast. So, strap up your seatbelts and let’s take a trip back in time to Music Row in Nashville!

Before we get into the show, I just want to remind you that my coaching program is open for you folks out there in need of coaching in these categories: Relationship coaching, Spiritual coaching, Life coaching, and of course, Podcast coaching.

So for all my dHarmic Evolution fans and supporters who are looking for life-changing results in any of these areas, please email me at [email protected] I’ll set up a 30-minute NO COST, NO OBLIGATION Zoom call for you and I to vet this out and see if we are a good fit together, because this is one-on-one coaching. It’s not group coaching. Therefore, I can only handle a limited number of people and I hope it’s you! Again, there will be limited spaces available as this is “one-on-one”, so reach out ASAP to reserve a spot!

As we celebrate the Easter holidays, let these songs fill you with life, hope and joy.

Quotes:

09:04

“As an artist, whatever you're creating, your influences show up in one-way shape or form.”

19:47

“A simple love song but I kind of went beyond just the initial feelings of love. When you first fall in love and the stars and everything in your hearts. I really feel that love is a commitment. There may be days where you don't feel like loving your spouse or your kids but you're committed to them so you love them all the same. That feeling is going to pass, you'll makeup and everything will be fine but it's about that “You can always depend on me, I'm going to be your castle on the rock, immovable, unshakable. I'm here for you, I love you, and I always will.”

42:34

“I'm thankful we have a nice big backyard that goes about 100 yards deep and there's a pond and you know, a nice wooded area, we have a fire pit in the back. Nothing better than to just spend an evening by the fire, family and friends, and just chilling. My wife and I love to just relax and watch movies or documentaries and stuff on Netflix or Amazon just to kind of wind down. Of course, I love being with my family. We love to travel, haven't traveled for a good long time, but we love to travel and just discover new things and stuff. So we're pretty low-key.”

50:58

”I think what comes to mind is just be yourself. Be authentic. I don't think we need any more copycats. I think that the artists that get the most respect over time are those that are the most original... I think the music industry is really hungry for more artists and bands like that. So I would really encourage you to be that person to make that bold step and put out something like that.”

We’ve got another killer singer-songwriter to welcome to the dHarmic Evolution. Hailing from Wexford, Pennsylvania, she's an independent R&B soul-pop artist, who has an absolutely stunning career going on in the music industry. Strap up your seatbelts as we go to Nashville to meet DANiiVORY.

Dani always had music in her life. Her mom was a music teacher, a liturgical minister and encouraged her to pursue her passion for music. She went on to obtain a higher education at the esteemed and famous Berklee College of Music, graduated with a dual degree in contemporary writing and production and vocal performance.

Dani has done it all! She's toured with Beyonce, small theaters, and big theaters. She is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and daughter, where she continues to write and record music with influences that range from Janet Jackson to The Beatles.

Dani has crafted a dreamy electronic pop sound that is all her own. Let’s listen together to this amazing singer-songwriter as we feature some of her great songs like “Blackout” and “Pink Lightning.” We’ll also get to know more about her, her experiences and also some future plans. Check out this episode of dHarmic Evolution with DANiiVORY!

More about DANiiVORY

Support DANiiVORY and her music. Follow her on Instagram and check on her website and Facebook page to see what her upcoming schedules are. All links are provided below!

Quotes:

05:23

“..trying to balance having an infant child and still trying to pursue music and figure out okay, “Well, what sessions can I do? What can I not do? Is this gonna be worth my time?” That's what gets hard. So that's when it's like, if you have family close, definitely tap into that resource.”

17:44

“...I would lay down, like just a basic piano track and come up with ideas. Sometimes I'd be on the bus. I would come up with the lyrical idea, I'd record voice memos on my phone. Any songwriter probably has like millions of voicemail recordings”

25:12

“It was really more about the personal growth I was able to have as a performer and a young upcoming singer-songwriter, and seeing what it takes to be successful in that area of entertainment.”

36:47

“Don't stop, Keep it up. Keep going. Work on your craft. You just got to show up on the page and even if you don't feel like it, and it's a hard day, just push through it. You don't have to feel inspired every day but from there you can find the inspiration I feel like so it's just so important that you show up. Don't give up. Because just like anything else, an author they're not going to always come up with like their award-winning story every time they go to write something but you know they sit down every day and they show up at the page and they write, so it's in the monotony I guess on some of those days that you can find magic, I think.”

In addition to Organizational development, Strategy coaching, and positioning herself as a leader, here is more about what Jacqueline does for her clients!

I am an organic native to the Silicon Valley and greater Bay Area, with established roots in organizational development. Growing up in the epic center of a technology boom, surrounded by startups and innovated ideas has given me a playground with a variety of sandboxes to play in.

My experience and decision making is built around the data of personally watching companies fail and succeed.

Understanding what decisions led to those outcomes, what timelines were not met and why, what happens when the budget is not enough for the project at hand or staying in tuned with the latest technology that will close the gap on project deadlines, while at the same time maintaining personal relationships with clients.

These project management insights coupled with a large understanding of company culture, employee behavior and the importance of partner development has made me a key player in any organization small or large, complex problems to building roadmaps for company succession and most importantly having a hand in making those plans and company goals a reality.

I am largely an action taker, the roll up your sleeves, get in the trenches kind of partner. I look at challenges as an opportunity to use current experience as a starting point to find new ways to get to a solution and use different tool enhancements to achieve greater outcomes.

Podcasting Your Global Career - 335. The dHarmic Rising Stars Spotify Playlists, Is Your Music Here?
play

04/29/22 • 51 min

Today on the show, still doing something different, I talked about technology, what’s happening and how to protect yourself. Also, I discussed how to leverage your podcast after a show and finally shared the story behind the dHarmic rising star Spotify playlists. And just as a teaser, we will be having guests from all over the world very soon. So, strap up your seatbelt and enjoy this wonderful episode on the dHarmic Evolution podcast.

As a preview:

On technology, I switched to the Brave browser, an ad-blocking privacy browser that helps keep my browsing info private. Whenever I’m doing something sensitive, especially relating to my financial accounts, I use Brave. Another cool perk is you get paid for the viewing ads of your choice!

Regarding podcasts, I wanted to drop some growth hacks. When you are invited to a show, leverage that opportunity as an infomercial. Don’t just shut off your microphone and move on, take some steps to promote. Share it across your socials and even follow up just to get feedback and continue to build on a blossoming relationship.

Lastly, the dHarmic rising stars Spotify playlist is a Spotify playlist of 30 songs each that I created and named after certain star constellations. A very eclectic bunch of great songs from various genres are available on these playlists! Also, as a guest on the podcast, you get to put one of your songs on the playlist for free.

Listen and enjoy

Quotes:

“I worry that we are getting too complacent on letting our private information run rampant on the Internet”

“Keep your software updated and turn your phone off at least once a day”

“After your show is done, think of ways of how to keep it alive”

“Having your infomercial is very powerful, you took the time to do this, you showed up, you invested the energy and did the right things; don’t let it die”

“There are always things right in front of us that we tend to overlook”

“I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I am very comfortable in trying to make people comfortable on the show”

“You’re tired of your own music at times. Where do you go for inspiration? Other artists, of course!”
