Podcast Q&A
Why did you start this show?
I started this show because people kept asking me, "How do you start a podcast? Can you recommend a course?" No, I can't recommend a course! I'll start my own and create a podcast for you! 😊
What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?
I hope that listeners get exactly what they need to become go-to experts in their field, expand their audience, and get more clients. That's why I do this show!
Which episode should someone start with?
Ep. 45: How to Set the Right Goals for Your Podcast (12/27/2022). This is perfect whether you're just starting a podcast or you've been podcasting for years. If you lose sight of your number 1 goal for podcasting, then it's easy to succumb to podfade. It's also difficult to create a listener-centric show if you lose sight of your number 1 goal. (Yep, I tell you what your number 1 goal is in that episode!)
Which have been your favourite episodes so far?
Ep. 5 when Justin Schenck (Growth Now Movement) and I discuss how important it is to brand your show. Ep. 23 when Deirdre Tshien (Capsho) and I discuss content honey traps. Ep. 16 when Alex Sanfilippo (PodPros) and I discuss how important systems are in podcasting. Ep. 39 when Diann Wingert (The Driven Woman Entrepreneur Podcast) and I discuss changing unconscious beliefs around podcast. Ep. 38 when Chris Krimitos (Podfest) shares tips for using podcasting for marketing and audience building.
Which episode are you most proud of?
There's no one episode I'm most proud of. But I am super-proud of publishing an episode a day during November 2022!
What is your vision for your show?
My vision is for The Podcast Launchpad to be the go-to show for women entrepreneurs who want to learn how to use their own podcast as a marketing tool to grow their business.
What is your favourite other podcast that isn't yours?
I can't pick just one! Check out my interview episodes—the ones in which I interview other podcasters. I love their shows! And any shows I follow here. I don't follow for kicks!
How did you come up with the name for your podcast?
I want my show to be the place from where listeners can launch their show, launch their ideas, or even launch their marketing plans. And it's all about podcasting! So, The Podcast Launchpad....
Tell us a bit about yourself
I've been podcasting at The Geek Girl Soup Podcast since January 2012 when the two original hosts invited me on to talk about Skyrim! I ran a live interview-based show on BlogTalk Radio for a year. I'm the author of the Amazon bestseller The Podcast Launch Playbook. And I'm the founder of the Women Podcasters Academy. I'm a professional artist and filmmaker on the side!
