Samsung S20 launch, Z Flip and The Mandalorian orchestrator interviewed - Pocket-lint podcast ep. 40
02/14/20 • 33 min
This week we've seen the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S20 range and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, the company's second foldable phone. The new flagship models promise a bevy of high-end tech for those keen to lap it up and Pocket-lint editor Chris Hall joins me to discuss all the announcements and whether they are worth your hard-earned cash.
Away from Samsung, Stuart also chatted to movie and TV orchestrator and composer, Jonathan Beard, about his latest project: Heavenquest: A Pilgrim's Progress.
Beard has worked on plenty of top-notch series, including The Mandalorian, The Walking Dead, The Handmaid's Tale, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Dexter, so has witnessed first-hand how technology has changed the film and TV music business over the last 20 years.
00:53 - Chris talks Samsung Unpacked and the new Samsung Galaxy S20 range
06:19 - Jonathan Beard interview
28:00 - Chris gives his opinion on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphone

Ring privacy issues, Sportable, and we ride in a Nissan autonomous car - Pocket-lint podcast ep 39
This week, we look at the autonomous concept car from Nissan that drove 230-miles across England, all without anyone at the wheel. It was a ground-breaking journey too, considering it traversed and navigated on and around numerous different road conditions and scenarios – including roundabouts, motorways and curb-less lanes. Pocket-lint's Stuart Miles talks about the AI vehicle and what it was like to take a driverless ride in it.
We also chat with high-performance, real-time 3D sports tracking and data company Sportable. Its CEO, Dugald Macdonald and CTO Peter Husemeyer join us to discuss how its technology helps improve rugby and other sports, for players, coaches and fans alike.
And, Ring has been in the press a lot of late, with a number of high-profile reports on privacy issues and even camera hacks. So, Pocket-lint editor Chris Hall explains the problems it has most recently faced and the measures it is taking to tackle them.
