This is Play That Rock n' Roll's interview with legendary author DAVID MORRELL! David is most well-known for his 1972 debut novel, "FIRST BLOOD", which was adapted into the film starring Sylvester Stallone in 1982. David has also written THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE ROSE, CREEPERS, LAST REVEILLE, and many others. He’s published over 30 books, in addition to several essays, comic books, and non-fiction works as well.

In this conversation, we discussed David’s earliest inspirations, his background in music arrangement, how he developed the First Blood story, his intensive research process for his stories in historical settings like Last Reveille, and how he approached writing the novelizations for the Rambo film sequels. We also discuss an upcoming book from author Nat Segaloff called “The Rambo Report”, which David wrote the Foreword for. That’s a very exciting project that will be released next year.
