On the Gameweek 18 Review Podcast Suj and James discuss more fun with flags as several FPL managers see their teams decimated by injuries and suspensions and for many those problems are defensively, and with cash spare in many a FPL managers bank balance Trent Alexander-Arnold is now a priority for many. But it won't be for everyone...

Meanwhile Dominic Solanke netted a hat-trick at Forest, managed for the first time by Nuno Espirito Santo, Liverpool and Arsenal shared the points in the top of the table and the bottom 3, written off by many, all had great results including Sheffield United, who denied Aston Villa a place at the top of the table on Friday night.

While Suj and James go into Christmas celebrating home victories for their clubs; a limp Manchester United were comfortably dispatched by West Ham, for Tottenham it was a far more difficult assignment against a revitalised Everton.

James is just outside the top 5k after another storming weekend on his no Haaland strategy, but can it continue - and does James even want to continue without him - with Wolves and Southampton next for the big Norweigian!?

On the Gameweek 7 Review Suj and Jaes discuss all the weekend games, which included Bukayo Saka's haul for Arsenal against Southampton, Haaland's blank against a Fulham side who will feel they merited something from The Etihad and one or two games that didn't thrill the neutral.

One that thrill however was Brighton's come from behind victory against Tottenham, which dented James' good mood. There's an attempted explainer of what went wrong and the Podcast may even feature a bit of Erik Ten Hag, praise...?

Plus, many FPL managers ate looking at players they may need to sacrifice to afford others, fixtures are about to get tough for many of the best teams and budget to mid price FPL forwards becomes a feature, an d the one James has his eye on most may well surprise.

How do you break down one of the most dramatic days of football in memory? Suj and James do their best to analyse a Magic Monday of Monday at The Euros as Croatia gave Spain a mighty fright in Copenhagen and Switzerland stunned the World Champions, overcoming a 3-1 deficit to beat France on penalties.

Are the Spanish now the form team having scored ten goals in their last two games?

And who was to blame for France's defeat? Did Didier Deschamps' tactics cost the World Champions?

And the nerves have kicked in ahead of tonight's massive game for England against Germany. Can The Three Lions finally beat a major nation in knockout football?

James is joined by Souuthampton fan Matt Samuel and Ipswich Town fan Paul Gaught-Allen ahead of the meeting between the two promoted clubs at St Mary's on Saturday.

Both clubs remain winless, but the situation feels more troublesome at Southampton following their defeat at Manchester United and despite averaging a whopping 62% possession so far, they have only scored once.

Ipswich have two points more following draws with Fulham and Brighton and now have an outstanding long-term fixture run on the horizon where they will hope to rise up the table.

There's discussion on the 4.0 defensive assets including Taylor Harwoord-Bellis and Jacob Greaves, Ipswich's attacking talents for Fantasy and why despite their scoring assets James has two Southampton players high on his watchlist.

It’s a Planet FPL debut for new Crystal Palace correspondent Ruaidhri McLaughlin-Dowd as he joins James to give the lowdown on The Eagles, and there are concerns that Palace may be about to have a season where they stand still rather than kick on.

There’s reflection on Patrick Vieira’s dismissal and the improved run under Roy Hodgson, but is it the right call to have then reappointed him on a full-time basis? Could it partly be because Palace haven’t looked like doing much business in the transfer market and that Hodgson remains a safe pair of hands until the man Palace wants is available?

With Wilfried Zaha gone and Michael Olise injured much of the onus will fall on the popular Ebe Eze to provide the attacking output in the season to come, he now looks the clear talisman for FPL and at 6.5 will appeal. But does he need a better support cast to allow him to flourish? Could 19 year-old Brazilian Matheus Franca prove to be the much needed attacking addition that Palace need?

Plus, does the signing of Jefferson Lerma signal a return to a more pragmatic Palace? And does it mean their defensive assets at 4.5 should appeal more?

Planet FPL - The Fantasy Football Podcast - Brighton v Manchester City | CotC with Sam Murray & Jonny Pringle | Planet FPL 2023/24
play

04/23/24 • 54 min

On the first of two Clash of the Correspondents this week James is joined by Brighton fan Sam Murray and Manchester City fan Jonny Pringle to discuss the latest at their clubs and the FPL assets of interest ahead of Thursday's meeting between the two clubs.

Have Brighton stalled this season? Can they trouble City with a 12 day period to prepare? And how strong is concern that Roberto De Zerbi may move on in the summer?

Man City have it in their own hands to claim the title again, but are they as strong now as they have been during previous title run-ins?

Plus all the key FPL assets discussed from City, featuring concerns over Erling Haaland's form, Foden v De Bruyne, if Ederson can be relied on and best defensive assets.

And has everyone forgotten that Brighton have their own Double coming up in GW37? Will the likes of Pascal Gross be wrongly overlooked? Could Joao Pedro solve the solutions for those in need of an enabling forward and are there defensive assets that should be considered?

Planet FPL - The Fantasy Football Podcast - Brentford v Wolves | CotC with @FPLDummyTom & @parker_bradley | Planet FPL 2022/23
play

10/27/22 • 52 min

On Clash of the Correspondents this week James is joined by Brentford fan Tom Medd and Wolves fan Bradley Parker to discuss all the latest at their clubs and preview Saturday's GW14 meeting in West London.

It's a 'miserable' mood for both Correspondents following 4-0 defeats for both at the weekend and there are plenty of laughs to be had on this Podcast.

For The Bees, 9 goals conceded in their last 2 away games is countered by consecutive clean sheets at home. Do The Bees have an 'away' problem? There's also discussion on speculation linking Thomas Frank to vacant jobs and whether we can expect a switch back to a 4-3-3.

While at Wolves concern is greater, with a new permanent manager not set to be appointed until 2023 and only 5 goals scored all season concern is growing about prospects of survival. There is even speculation that interim manager Steve Davis may not be picking the team or having the final say on tactics.

Plus, the stats that prove Ivan Toney does better in a back four and whether FPL managers should buy, hold or sell and enablers that may appeal are talked up/down...
