BROWNIE POINTS
03/30/23 • 70 min
This is an incredibly special episode for us, as we were blessed to welcome the legendary Greg Brown. Hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
Brown's association with the Pirates began in 1979, when he interned in the promotions department while attending Point Park University. He's now in his 30th year as a radio and TV play-by-play announcer with the Pirates. Only Lanny Frattare (33 years) has called more games as a play-by-play announcer than Brown, who has described the action of over 4,000 games in his career behind the mic.
Known for his outgoing personality and passion for the ball club, the Emmy Award-winning broadcaster has made the phrase “Raise The Jolly Roger” synonymous with a Pirates victory and “Clear The Deck, Cannonball Coming” his signature home run call.
Brown’s dedication and passion for the Pirates extends to his efforts away from the broadcast booth, as he makes numerous offseason appearances in the community, both in the Pittsburgh area and in Bradenton during spring training.

ROOT ROOT
In this episode of Pitching In, Jason Mackey and Michael McKenry break down the Pirates’ opening road trip. From what has given Mitch Keller success, to the culture change that has existed in the clubhouse and even a story about Fort living in an attic. As always, it's baseball talk with a light-hearted attitude. The guys also discuss a possible Bryan Reynolds extension, how this has happened and where they see things landing by the home opener, a day they’re both eagerly awaiting.
Hope to see you at PNC on Opening Day....
