This is Pinnacle Financial Advisors' inaugural podcast program. In this podcast, you'll hear from Jeff Brenner of Intelysis Corporation, a forensic investigation firm, about steps you can take to protect yourself from identity theft and fraud.
Bio of Jeff Brenner

Jeff Brenner is the U.S. Director of Operations at Intelysis Corp. and is responsible for all investigations and due diligence assignments based in the United States. He began his investigative career at Intelysis after practicing for fourteen years in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey as a commercial trial lawyer and a corporate mergers and acquisitions attorney. He also served as the firm's outside general counsel.
As a litigator, he served as lead New Jersey counsel for a specialty-lines insurer and was responsible for investigating, and defending against, fraudulent first and third party claims. He was also in charge of all discovery proceedings in connection with a federal court fraud trial which resulted in a near $3 million award in favor of the claimant.
While practicing as a corporate M&A attorney, Jeff conducted due diligence examinations of target companies, verifying facts material to the transactions and authenticating the representations and warranties of the respective parties.
At Intelysis, Jeff focuses his practice on corporate due diligence investigations for Hedge Funds, Merger & Acquisition firms, and Venture Capital firms. Utilizing the same skills he developed as a litigator, Jeff also manages and conducts internal investigations for Fortune 500 companies and provides investigative litigation support services to insurers and law firms throughout the country.
Jeff is a frequent lecturer on the topic of investigative database research for the hedge fund industry and often serves as a resource for the financial press.
Jeff received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University, Cook College and a juris doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law in Camden, New Jersey where he served as a member of the Rutgers Law Journal. Jeff is the author of numerous legal and trade articles on the topic of IT security, due diligence investigations, and fraud prevention and detection.
