Postgame 11/21: Morgan Frost is the greatest Flyer ever
Claude Giroux posted the eleventh 4-point night of his career, Morgan Frost potted his second career goal in as many games and added the game-winning assist as the Philadelphia Flyers skated to a 5-3 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh on Thursday night.
The Flyers captain lead the way with a pair of goals and a matching set of assists, notching his first multi-goal game since November 5, 2018, while new-comer Frost continued to dazzle with his quick hands and decisive playmaking.
G and Frosty first hooked up on a short-handed play, after our old pal Petr Mrazek iced the puck with his team on the power play. With only 8 seconds left on Carolina’s man advantage, Alain Vigneault sent his skill guys out for the offensive zone draw and the decision worked out perfectly for Philly, as Frost scored off the draw to give the Flyers the lead early in the second period.
In order to repay the vet, the rookie set No. 28 up for the eventual winner, once again displaying the smooth handles that gave him his first goal on Tuesday. In a similar situation, Frost proved to be multi-dimensional.
Forgive me for gushing, but... Damn!
