Philosophy Rekindled02/24/20 • 41 min
Part 1 of Episode 9 is the audio version of Chapter VIII of Tertium Organum by P.D. Ouspensky read by Alice Flanagan.
Ouspensky begins to explore the question ‘what is consciousness’ by looking at our receptive apparatus and the hierarchy of the interpretation of sensations into perceptions and concepts and where ideas, instinct and intuition fit into this. He explores what might prove the interdependence of this hierarchy on differing levels of consciousness and how we might prove this by using animals as an example.
