Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein

Kylie Hein

Raise your hand if you've ever...
Placed your worth in praise, perfection, or productivity?
Felt like God was near, but couldn't figure out what he was asking you to do.
Questioned why if you're doing God's will, your vocation seems SO stinking hard.
Dropped everything to help out a coworker, only to come home paralyzed by decision fatigue because you didn't touch your own to-do list.
My friend, you are in good company! If you are a fellow book buying, course-taking, love to do all-of-the-things while often getting stuck in a state of overwhelm kind of Catholic, this is the place for you!
Welcome to the Persistence in Prayer podcast, hosted by Catholic Mindset Coach, wife, mother, educator, and speaker, Kylie Hein. This podcast is where Catholic women learn to create space from their circumstances and obligations, so that they can show up mentally present with those that need them most. We explore the beauty and simplicity of life that comes as a result of persistence in prayer, as well as all of the daily trials that come with living a life rooted in Christ.
If you're in a valley and need a friend, we're here. If you're on a peak and ready to shout out your wins to the world, we're here for that too!
Here, you will learn to cultivate a deeper sense of trust in God's plan for your life so that you have clarity in His calling and the courage to go wherever he leads. If you long to give God a more prominent place in your life, but you aren't sure where to begin, stick around. Being a high achiever and having a deep, meaningful prayer life are not mutually exclusive. You don't have to sacrifice your one-on-one time with God to meet the demands of your job, your family, or your schedule. You have a choice. Your fresh start to freedom may be just one episode away.

In 2018 Andrea’s whole world came crashing down around her as she discovered that her husband Austin would need a miracle to survive. Austin was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer, leaving Andrea to not only care for him, but her children as well.

Now, 75 infusions and 9 surgeries later, Andrea and her husband are changing the lives of so many others who are being asked to surrender control of their circumstances to the Lord.

In this episode, Andrea Hill and I discuss what it takes to get comfortable with the lack of control in our lives, and what we can do to prepare ourselves so that we remain calm and confident in Christ when the inevitable happens. We share distinct examples that explain exactly why it is so important to develop healthy physical and mindset habits, before the waves come crashing down on your life as you know it.

For all of my personal-development friends, Catholic women of faith, and those in the world who want to make a big impact, this is a definite must listen!

Miracles are around us each and every day, don’t miss out on an opportunity to praise God for them!

Hello Beautiful Souls!

Do you ever feel like God just isn’t listening? You know you’re supposed to trust him and that he’s supposedly will provide for your every need, but you’re having a hard time accepting this reality. In all honesty, it feels like the walls are simply crumbling around you and God is standing by watching you get hit by the bricks.

In this episode I am going to share some personal insights I’ve had in my own life this week. I mean, was God really there when my son was peeing in a Gatorade bottle in my car as the police officer was walking up to the window? How can we be sure of His presence in moments like that?

At the end of this episode, I’m going to leave you with five ways you can find God when it feels like you just can’t trust him. And believe me, I know how hard that is to admit and say out loud. It’s not what we’re supposed to say, but it’s the reality. Sometimes, trusting God is HARD!

P.S. I have an AMAZING OPPORTUNITY for you to be a part of a free community of fellow aspiring saints. Starting on August 7th I will be co-hosting a FREE book study on Dan Burke’s book titled “Spiritual Warfare and the Discernment of Spirits.” Each session will consist of fellowship, learning, and an opportunity for you to get coached by me with no fees attached. Click HERE if you want in!

Many blessings and much love,

Kylie

Have you ever thought to yourself, “Something must be wrong with me?” Everyone else seems to have their life figured out. They know how to balance work and marriage and kids and prayer and exercise, and I’m over here like a dumpster fire on rollerblades just trying not to light everyone else on fire!

If so, you are in good company! Being swamped, stretched too thin, and questioning your life choices is something I think most women can relate to. I know I can... But the truth is, there isn’t anything wrong with you. Just because that system, that planner, that diet, or that parenting method worked for "everyone" else and it didn’t solve all of your problems, doesn’t make you a failure.

In this episode I am joined by Amber Curtis. Amber is the founder of Solutions for Simplicity. She helps overwhelmed women maximize their time and energy for who and what they love. So they can do more, stress less, and be happier. Amber is a professor, productivity coach, and devoted mom of four.

Listen in as we talk about time - priorities - and energy... Most importantly, Amber and I are going to break down why that new system you were so excited to implement at your house for summer may not be working out at the moment. Newsflash... it isn't you!

Welcome to another episode of Persistence in Prayer! Do you ever find yourself yearning for a day of pure relaxation, free from the demands of your bustling life? Well, you're not alone. In today's episode, we're diving into the art of rest – and trust me, it's way better than a nap!

I often oscillate between two extremes. On one hand, I'm in full-on beast mode, tackling tasks, learning, helping others – sleep is optional. On the flip side, there are days when I just want to escape, lie in bed, and avoid the world with my trusty phone. Burnout and overwhelm? Yeah, they're familiar companions.

But here's the catch – rest wasn't something I prioritized for a long time, and maybe you can relate. This week, as we embrace the season of Advent and its spirit of waiting, we're delving into the importance of rest. And guess what? The Lord commands it.

Join me and the wonderful Roxsan DeVera of meekandhumble.com as we unpack what true rest looks like, especially for people-pleasers, achievers, and everyone navigating life's hustle.

Rest is where we lean on the Lord, finding sustenance and support. So, whether you're a go-getter or a quiet observer, learn with us how to reclaim rest, just as God intended. And in case you're still wondering what's better than a nap – spoiler alert: it's resting with Jesus! Tune in for a delightful conversation on the beauty of rest and its profound connection with our spiritual journey this Advent.

Do you ever feel like prayer is just really, really hard? Hard to commit to every day, hard to find time for, and sometimes, just hard to get started? On top of all of that, you find yourself distracted, disconnected, or, dare I even say it... bored!
I went on a recent quest to find out why it is that people don't pray. Okay, I Googled it, BUT, I found out that many of the reasons others had listed, were excuses I had used in my own life as well. The truth is, the prayer itself is easy when we allow God to do the work and we show up in a state ready to receive him. The hard part is actually preparing ourselves for prayer, and convincing our minds that it really is worth all of the effort!
In this episode I leave you with a few sticky beliefs that might be keeping you from making that extra effort to spend time with God every day, and some reminders of truth that will help you to get back to it when prayer feels really hard.
If you feel stuck in your prayer life and just can't seem to hear God in the midst of your chaos, I want to invite you sign-up for a free discovery call to see if my 12 week Plan of Life program is a good fit for you.
If you are tired of waiting ...
✔ To have 5 minutes to spend ALONE in prayer
✔ For someone to help you navigate what it looks like to live out a life of prayer in YOUR circumstances
✔ To have the courage to go where God is calling you.
✔ To have the skills to navigate life’s constant curveballs without frustration and overwhelm
✔ For your chaos to have meaning
✔ For someone to help you establish deep and meaningful prayer habits

My dear friend, you don’t have to be overwhelmed. You don’t have to be exhausted all of the time. You don’t have to navigate hardships alone. You don’t even have to have a schedule that is so overwhelming you feel like you can’t breathe sometimes.

I get it. You’re used to doing things alone. In fact, you’re really good at getting things done. Lots of things for that matter! Sometimes, you even thrive on that.

Yet, God doesn’t call us to journey alone. We need others to help us along the way. If you’re tired of trying to figure out the next first step, I invite you to prayerfully consider my 12 week, 1:1 Plan of Life Program.

A Plan of Life is a blueprint for how you are going to commit to showing up each day, with Christ at the center. But, it’ so much more than that. With a coach to help you, it is a habit builder that will help you grow in holiness, develop a greater intimacy with God, and create a life of meaning and purpose where you are able to show up as the you God created you to be.

My 12 week program is uniquely designed around the goals and desires of each individual. In this program, you will learn to utilize your natural contributions, tendencies, and state in life to your advantage. You will grow in courage to go where God is leading you. You will leave with skills to manage your mind, and have a greater understanding of how you are being asked to grow in virtue in this very season.
