Ilkeston 1962, Part 1

When 37 year old Sonia Wilson sat down in front of detectives at Ilkeston police station, neither they nor her knew where to begin.

She had asked to speak to them about a crime she'd committed.

Surprised that such a respectable middle-class woman was volunteering her own guilt, the shocking story she had to tell left the detectives doubting the truth of what she told them.

What unfolded was a tale of horror and greed, exploitation and duty.

Part two is out next week so be sure to subscribe. You won't want to miss it.

Old Whittington, 2020

When paramedics arrived at the home of Shannon Marsden and her boyfriend Stephan Boden in the early hours of Christmas Day 2020, it wasn't just the squalor of the place that shocked them. Initial reports suggested that their son, 10 month old Finley Boden, was struggling for breath; possibly as a result of a covid-19 infection.

The reality of his situation however became clear almost instantly. A victim of violence and neglect, how could a child who should have been one of the most protected in the county been allowed to die in such tragic circumstances?
