Capitola, Ca Mayor Yvette Brooks

Capitola Mayor Brooks is super down to earth and well versed. A San Jose, Ca native, Yvette Brooks found her second home when she attended college at UCSC. As you listen to her interview you can hear the down to earth "homegirl" come out and then effortlessly transition into Mayor Brooks. She has a deep fondness for activism and knows how to get ahold of the proper channels for change. It's funny, but when I interview anybody from the political world I never really know what to expect because its a new world for me, but Yvette made the conversation comfortable for me. It was really cool to know that someone who knows the streets the way I do has made it to where she is now. Only the 7th woman to be elected to the Capitola city council!
