Out of the Box

The season is over, a champion has been crowned, and it’s time for the Season Six Finale. Tom Canterbury and Gray Robertson return to close out the year with an episode that can last the whole summer that discusses everything you need to know about Alabama, the SEC, and much more. Here's your trip around the bases:

At the Plate (0:00-37:19): Tom and Gray open up the show looking at Oklahoma’s run to a fourth straight national title before saying farewell to the graduates and other departures from Alabama. Then, the guys give a thorough evaluation of Team 28 before turning the page and discussing what’s ahead in 2025.

Advancing to First (37:28-1:11:46): The guys zoom through the SEC and glance at potential rosters for 2025, examine some of the major staff changes, and mention of the big national names currently circulating in the transfer portal.

Stealing Second (1:11:57-2:07:44): Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy returns to the show to discuss what made this year so special, the mindset shift in the postseason, evaluations of the entirety of 2024 and how to improve, Kayla Braud’s impact, Kayla Beaver’s legend status, the rest of the senior class, maneuvering the transfer portal, the growth of Marlie Giles and Kristen White, the incoming freshmen, some 2025 schedule clues, and much, much more.

Rounding Third (2:07:54-2:44:26): ESPN analyst and Arizona legend Kenzie Fowler Quinn joins the show to dissect Oklahoma’s title run, the rise of Texas, saying goodbye to the Pac-12, her special playlist for the occasion, and more.

Heading Home (2:44:35-3:03:52): To close the show, Tom and Gray present their podiums for “Tom’s Hungry” 2024, and then announce the 2024 All-Name Team. Then, the guys preview what’s coming in the offseason on the podcast feed.

NOTE: Because of the finale’s length, the epic “Off the Wall” segment was recorded into a separate podcast episode. It’s on the feed now, so don’t miss it!

Off the Wall: The Great Reading of Receipts, 2024 Edition

It’s time! The “Off the Wall” segment has been pushed into a separate episode, and this one is a doozy. Tom Canterbury and Gray Robertson gather together to read some of the most asinine comments of the season, including disgusting lines from website editors, quitting quotes from fans, and everything in between.

Then, the guys discuss some of the recent controversies to hit social media since the WCWS, including what constitutes success in softball, the constant moving of the goalposts by fans, and plenty more fiery topics. Finally, Tom and Gray close by explaining why this segment exists and the need to eradicate the ridiculousness in the Alabama fanbase.
