iPhone 14 and 14 Plus + 14 Pro and Pro Max + Apple Watch Ultra
09/08/22 • 30 min
Eight — yes, eight! — new Apple devices were launched at the Far Out event. (Gadgets 360 was there!) And you can pre-order most of them this week.
Gadgets 360 executive editor Jamshed Avari, reviews editor Roydon Cerejo, and senior reviewer Sheldon Pinto join Orbital host Akhil Arora to discuss all of them.
In India, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are more expensive than ever, starting at Rs. 1,29,900 and Rs. 1,39,900, respectively. For that money, you get an all-new design with Dynamic Island, an always-on display that looks cool as heck, and a new 48-megapixel main camera.
The iPhone 14, however, retains pricing status quo — Rs. 79,900 — but sadly, it’s saddled with last year’s A15 Bionic chip. It’s also now the most affordable option, with a new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus coming in at Rs. 89,900.
Over in the wrist section, Apple has introduced the Watch Ultra with a bonkers Rs. 89,900 tag. It’s almost twice as heavy as the new Series 8, which has some new sensors but not much. There’s also a new Watch SE, with the same chipset as others, and the same old launch price.
Lastly, there’s the AirPods Pro 2, which are also more expensive than before at Rs. 26,900. For that, you get a new H2 chip, longer battery life, and personalised spatial audio.
Phew, we are done. Hit play to hear us delve into all those announcements, sprinkled with hands-on first impressions.

iPhone 14 leaks — everything we know
Is Apple committing a sin by splitting the iPhone 14 from the 14 Pros?
Gadgets 360 executive editor Jamshed Avari and senior reviewer Ali Pardiwala join Orbital host Akhil Arora to discuss all the leaks.
The iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are said to be getting rid of the notch, and will instead opt for a dual cutout. They might also get a 48-megapixel rear camera, one that’s capable of 8K video recording. Who needs that?
Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 will keep the notch, and its smaller sibling — the mini — is reportedly going away, to be replaced with a 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max. Wait, why? Tune into the episode to discover.
We might be getting three new Apple Watches, including an expected Series 8, a budget SE 2, and what some are calling the Extreme Sports. The last of them will be a rugged watch, and might be crazy expensive.
Hit play to find out everything that could be announced at next week’s Apple event, including a never-seen-before chip split between the non-Pro and Pro iPhones.
