Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father

Heart of the Father

Open Doors is a conversation about inviting God’s love, presence, and power into our hearts. We are friends and teammates from Heart of the Father Ministries who share in the mission of setting captive hearts free through Unbound ministry. We’ll be touching on the impact of Neal Lozano’s book, Unbound, and hearing stories of lives changed through Unbound ministry. At times we’ll dig deep into the Five Keys of Unbound, simple responses to the gospel with profound impact on hearts and lives. Join us for stories, insights, reflections, and prayer as we seek Him together! Learn more at www.heartofthefather.com. Music by Christian Harper. Artwork by Rosemary Strohm at Command-S.

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father - Reaching the Spanish Speaking Community with Rachel Lozano and Gilbert Rodriquez
play

10/14/21 • 23 min

Gilbert Rodriguez is the leader of The Fire Place, a ministry based in New York City that exists to awaken hearts to burn for Jesus and revival in His church.

Gilbert is also the Director of Evangelization for the parishes of Blessed Virgin Mary Help of Christians and St. Bartholomew in Queens, New York.
Listen as he shares with Rachel how the Lord touched him profoundly and how he's been giving it away, especially to the Spanish Speaking Community!

Back in 2012, he went to a confession with a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal. There were things he shared in that confession that led the priest to recommend Unbound.
" And these sessions culminated in an Unbound prayer where he led me through the keys, and words cannot explain what I experienced that day. There was so much breakthrough healing...

There was a weight that was lifted off.
Also after that session, I saw very tangible fruit in my life...

So this was the spring, and in the fall of that year, I got engaged to the woman who's now my wife.
That session freed me from the fear of commitment, the fear of saying yes to my vocation.
There's also been a courage and a boldness to walk in my identity as a son of God and a courage to continue to say yes to all these different doors that the Lord has as opened...
All I can say is deep in my heart, I just knew God was (in Unbound) and I knew that His hand was on it.

This message of freedom is going to be at the core of revival."
Join Rachel and Gilbert to hear more including a great story about nuns in Chile and all the Lord is doing through his "YES" to the Father!

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father - Professor for a Week! Unbound in Rome with Neal Lozano and Jacqueline Harper
play

05/23/24 • 29 min

Jacqueline hosts Neal as he shares about speaking in Rome at the Course on the Ministry of Exorcism and Deliverance sponsored by the Sacerdos Institute. Neal presented a non-confrontational approach to deliverance, which is Unbound ministry, to 195 people from 46 countries worldwide. His talks were translated into four languages.
“It was a very different atmosphere for me. They were all professors and they gave me the title professor.” Asking about this, Neal was told, “You’re a professor this week!”
Encouraging listeners to be open to a new way, Neal offered questions to consider: Is it possible that many people are receiving a confrontational style of deliverance or exorcism who do not need one? Is there another approach to help people?
The Unbound approach addresses the person needing help, not the evil one. “We need to understand a person’s heart,” said Neal, adding the necessity to uncover past traumas, responses to traumas, the enemy’s lies, and unforgiveness. “If we give too much attention to the demonic element, we’re going to miss the person. We see Unbound more as a model for evangelization than just deliverance.”
From there, Neal offered numerous testimonials of individuals set free through Unbound ministry, one being himself!
Overall, “It was well-received and I made a connection,” concluded Neal.
Trivia Quiz
1. What surprised Neal the most during his trip to Rome?
2. How long have Jacqueline and Neal known each other?
Find out these things and far more in this fascinating episode!
Sjoquist, B.S. (2021) “The virtuous use of private exorcism by laypersons,” Antiphon: A Journal for Liturgical Renewal, 25(1), pp. 63–90.
It is not intrinsically immoral for laypersons to issue such commands, and, if done rightly, it is virtuous for them to do so. Moral theologians and canonists writing after the Council of Trent up until the Second Vatican Council referred to this practice as “private exorcism.” A close look at the writings of these authors reveals a nearly universal understanding that no ecclesiastical positive law prohibited such actions. When current laws and instructions related to exorcism are read within the context of this tradition, I believe it is also the case that no ecclesiastical positive law categorically prohibits such actions today.

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father - Testimony Time: Fantastic and Beautiful Things with Rachel Lozano and Susana de la Piedra
play

06/30/22 • 30 min

You'll be so blessed by the beautiful Susana de la Piedra. Born in Chile, when she was a little girl, Susana left her country to live in Brazil and then later in South Africa and Australia.
Now back and raising a family in Chile, she has been instrumental in sharing the message of Unbound there.
Susana, a nurse by profession, cares for her husband and five kids while ministering through the Regnum Christi movement. She exudes a love for others and her passion is to see people set free.
Listen to her testimony of deep healing and forgiveness...and allow the Lord to take you deeper and deeper into His heart.
"How much He loves us and how much MORE He has in store for us."
Expect something beautiful!
"It was obvious that this was the way the Lord wanted me to walk so I read the books and then I took the Basic Training and after that the Mentoring, ( and then the Advanced Training.) I just, I just was so hungry, Rachel, for more, and I wanted to understand better and go deeper. So it was a beautiful gift to come across the training and the Five Keys, and to know that there was a nonconfrontational model that we could use to bring freedom to the people."

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father - Where I Found Bread with Rachel Lozano and Priscilla Strapp

Where I Found Bread with Rachel Lozano and Priscilla Strapp

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father

play

04/13/23 • 34 min

A short conversation in her counselor's office ultimately led Priscilla Strapp of New Life Philly to bring Unbound to her church. Before long, she found herself across the world leading an Unbound conference in Japan -- the same place her journey of faith began as a child of missionaries. Priscilla's experience with Unbound is a story of deliverance and bridging divides, with an ending yet to unfold.
Listen to this joyful conversation as Rachel and Priscilla reflect on what the Lord can do, often behind the scenes, working all things together to bring glory and healing.

Every day God calls to share the Good News. It is easy to be discouraged by obstacles, and oftentimes we do not see the fruit of His work. Other times He places opportunities right in our laps, where we serve as His hands and feet with a front-row seat to powerful testimonies of lives changed by deliverance.
That's the way the gospel spreads. You always hear people say, it's just a one starving person saying to another, 'this is where I found bread.'

"Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen." Hebrews 13:20-21 NIV

“The J’s are in the house” this week as Jenn and Janet Lozano along with Jacqueline Harper sum up Chapters Three and Four of Matt Lozano’s book Free to Be Holy.
“Reading Chapter 3 was like going into the throne room. I just encountered the Lord,” said Jenn.
God is totally other – completely unique and excellent in every way. And yet He’s excellently accessible to us!
Jesus carried the world’s sin on the cross, but it didn’t change Him. He emanated perfect excellent love.
Listen to Janet describe an Unbound conference in Poland where she profoundly experienced God’s presence, giving her courage to intercept security guards and minister to someone in desperate need.
Learn what we can do to see God with the eyes of our heart, plus three aspects of God’s grace. Discover the difference between guilt and shame.
Picture Matt seeing the stars unhindered while on a camping trip to West Virginia. Compare that to Unbound ministry, where a filter is removed allowing someone to see God’s love, presence, his activity in their lives.
If you haven’t yet read Free to Be Holy, check it out. Go somewhere quiet, sit down, and expect an encounter with God. At the very least, listen to this podcast!
“There is always more to see,” writes Matt.

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father - Restoring a Thankful Heart with Neal Lozano and Jacqueline Harper

Restoring a Thankful Heart with Neal Lozano and Jacqueline Harper

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father

play

11/16/23 • 27 min

With the American Thanksgiving holiday coming up next week, we thought this would be a great time to talk about gratitude. We love our Thanksgiving tradition , but the heart behind it is really taking time to be grateful and to express our thanksgiving to the Lord.
Have you ever considered that gratitude is a profound response to God's love and goodness? Join us as Neal and Jacqueline reflect on significant experiences of giving thanks. Neal mentions 1 Thessalonians 5, highlighting that it is God's will we express thanks in all circumstances.
Neal and Jacqueline touch on several other scriptural passages:
Psalm 136:1-3
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.

Give thanks in all circumstances. It's at the heart of our personal relationship with Him.
Neal then offers suggestions for ways that we can grow in that act, in that discipline of giving thanks.
Psalm 50: 23
The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders His way rightly I will show the salvation of God!
Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
God's word makes it super clear that a thanksful heart is a heart that pleases Him.
Listen today and have your thankful heart restored.

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father - How to Listen: Creating a Safe Space at Home with Neal Lozano and Carolina Prada and her daughter Hannah
play

06/09/22 • 31 min

What it's like to have a mom and a daughter share about Unbound ministry, looking back over many, many years and hearing about the fruit that it's produced in their lives?

Meet Carolina Prada, originally from Costa Rica, now married and raising her family in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. She and her husband have a powerful conversion story and then the Lord led them to serve in Apape Street Ministry, healing ministries, RCIA, and Unbound.

Hear her personal testimony of freedom from nightmares which led Carolina to bring Unbound to her church, her family, and friends.

Carolina: (On my behalf) my husband went to talk to a priest who told him to get the book (Unbound) and to do it right away. So he got the last copy and brought it home to me.

I read it...and the rest is history!

Hannah (her 15-year-old daughter): I got introduced to Unbound when I was three years old, which was a huge blessing. And since then my mom and I use it all the time and this has just built a beautiful relationship of trust between us...Our doing Unbound together has really helped me pinpoint things in my life that I need to get rid of like unhealthy attachments and such...
Carolina: In praying together, Unbound has basically created a very special bond between us because sometimes I'm the problem. I haven't realized it is something I've said or the way I've said it or the timing has just been so wrong. And then I offer Hannah (or my other children) prayer and as we pray at some point, it will come out...and it's this safe place where our Lord is so present, and they can really open up and just say exactly how they feel, without feeling shame or feeling afraid...we can truly open our hearts for Him to heal.
Whether you long to grow in listening, desire more healing in your family, or just want to be blessed, join us today and be filled with hope!

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father - Testimony Time: I'm Free! with Rachel Lozano and Jude Christopher

Testimony Time: I'm Free! with Rachel Lozano and Jude Christopher

Open Doors: Conversations with Heart of the Father

play

09/30/21 • 25 min

It's Testimony Time!
Meet Jude Christopher who leads Unbound New Hampshire and Abba House of Mercy and Prayer at St. Andre Bessette Parish. Join Rachel and Jude and hear how the Lord set Jude powerfully free from painful childhood wounds as she entered into deep forgiveness and how He called her into ministry to others.
Excerpts from her testimony below, but you'll want to listen to the whole thing!
"In Unbound, I saw that the Five Keys were a way of getting rid of all of that 'stuff.' I was overjoyed and I couldn't wait.
I picked up the phone and I called somebody and asked for an Unbound session.
I thought, 'I'm willing to do anything to get set free.'
So in the course of that session, I forgave my dad on numerous levels, and my mother, and a lot of other people, but my dad, mostly, for the abandonment of the family (for he'd spend all of April to November on the golf course, mostly at the 'nineteenth' hole, and you didn't want to be around him when he came home.)
And about two hours later, I left that place and my legs were like rubber ... and I got in my car and started driving home.
Then I realized that I had been sitting in Pro Shop at a golf club, and the man who prayed deliverance with me was the golf pro. I thought, 'God, you've got such a sense of humor.'
I laughed all the way home. I just couldn't believe that God would be that personal, that He would know where the biggest wound in my life was and bring me there.
It was the next morning when I woke up and looked at the picture of Jesus on the wall and I said, 'I'm new!'
I knew that I had experienced and was experiencing that scripture in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 that says, 'If anyone is in Christ, he's a new creation. The new has come; the old has passed.'
I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was new and I would never again, in my whole life, be afraid to raise my hand."

play

07/27/23 • 38 min

Have you ever thought, "This wasn't the life I expected?"
You thought you'd be farther along in your career by now. You thought you'd be married by now. You thought you'd have more money saved by now. There are all different kinds of ways that we can be disappointed with life, and the question that this powerful episode offers is- are we willing to set aside those things, those expectations that we had, and accept what is, or will we continue to try to white knuckle our way through life, holding on to control everywhere that we can?
Join Rachel as she interviews Bonnie O'Neil on her life-changing book Chronic Hope.
Bonnie is a spiritual director and the executive director of Alpha Mid Atlantic, a faith-based nonprofit, and part of the board here at Heart of the Father Ministries. Bonnie is also a hope hunter. Join them today and bring your tissues.
