One Take With Tina

Today we sit down with Sonya K. Singh, author of Lightning Strikes Twice to talk about being a caregiver. Sonya's life completely changed when both of her parent became unable to care for themselves in a matter of months. She tells us about her journey and the realities of being a caregiver. As we are getting older, this is a reality we will inevitably face. We talk about how caregiving is viewed in the South Asian community and also the stigma there is around illness in the first place.

The Path Less Traveled

In today's episode we sit down with none other than Monika Deol. She is a true trailblazer in the media world and learning about her story is simply inspiring. From the very beginning she has ventured on the path less traveled and today we get to hear what that was really like...from expectations placed on her by her parents, to society's expectations and always feeling like an outsider. Join me as we hear Monika's story and how she became my favourite television personality of the 80's and 90's.

What Is A Canadian? Don Cherry & The First Generation Canadian Struggle

In today's episode I share my thoughts on the whole Don Cherry situation. Along with sharing my thoughts on his words, I talk about a larger issue. What is a Canadian? What is Canadian enough? What happens when you aren't Indian enough or Canadian enough? This has been a struggle for most of my life and Don Cherry's words brought back all those feelings I had as a child of not fitting in. Join me in this conversation and let me know your thoughts. You can catch me on any of my socials @mombossof3
