It is another day and another position group view for OGP. Adam and Andy dive in on the Safety's coming out in the NFL Draft. Xavier McKinney is an electric young Giant every fan is excited about, and Andy outlines why Wink Martindale's system can benefit the young safety and reduce the high draft need for Big Blue. Make no mistake, a player like Jaquan Brisker would have the OGP hosts salivating on Draft day, but with so many holes to fill the guys look a little deeper. Adam highlights Bryan Cook, the "thumper" out of Cincinnati with a high football IQ capable of playing in the box as well as back in coverage. An average ADP of 87 could put him right in the Giants value wheelhouse. Andy, after highlighting single-high Safety percentages in the Martindale scheme dives a little deeper with Verone McKinley out of Oregon. Every measurable points to a "non-athlete" but his falling stock has Andy watching tape and thinking draft steal for the Giants. In addition to players like Cam Taylor-Britt from Nebraska and Leon O'Neal Jr out of Texas A&M the thing the hosts agree on - there is talent throughout the draft for Big Blue!

The guys are back talking all things New York Football Giants, and talking winning football games! Coming in to the year the expectations were that Patrick Graham would have this defense playing lights out. While that hasn't always been the case, Sunday was an example of experience and talent being confusion and mistakes to Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. Julian Love played solid football in a larger role with the absence of Logan Ryan, and rookie Aaron Robinson showed flashed of why the Giants targeted him in the draft. Opportunistic, timely plays helped Big Blue hold Philadelphia to just 7 points.

On the other side... Freddie Kitchens certainly wanted to be more explosive in his first game calling plays, but there were several plays that have the guys feeling good about the evolving direction of the Offense. Adam does take a moment to highlight that there were issues in personal that do not simply go away after a coaching change and that played out on Sunday.

Finally, the playoffs! There is one wildcard position within reasonable reach for the Giants, but as Adam explains it will be a very narrow path to travel though the road still remains open!

The guys are back talking all things NY Giants! Today on the podcast Adam Armbrecht and Andy Mackiewicz run a 2 minute drill style rundown for the Giants OTA's The NY Giants depth chart could be seeing some shake ups! After highlighting some redshirt notes, the guys talk Saquon Barkley getting reps all over the field including on the outside as a receiver. As the system develops new RPO wrinkles Daniel Jones will need to orchestrate the offense, something Adam notes does have areas of concern. Andy turns his attention to Darius Slayton, who struggled to bring in some deep passes, which brings Adam to an interesting conclusion on the 4th year wideout. After highlighting the new veteran leadership role Adoree Jackson has taken on, the guys also note that Shane Lemieux remains in the driver seat at LG while rookie Joshua Ezeudu gets valuable starter reps in Andrew Thomas' absence. The big topic comes first in Dane Belton, another perfect Wink Martindale fit, the rookie Safety saw starter reps alongside Xavier McKinney! Daniel Bellinger continues to do no wrong, and while Andy loves what he sees at the TE spot, he for some reason cannot accept that Wan'Dale Robinson is worth every drop of hype this summer.

Jam packed on a Friday, OGP is the best NY Giant podcast for Big Blue faithful!

The guys rundown the opening week depth chart with a few fun surprises, including a lack of defined Slot Receiver. Ben Bredeson, for all the bouncing around, claimed the starting RG spot and Adam and Andy look at what that could mean long term this year with Ezuedu, Lemieux and Peart locking into depth roles across the line. Eric Gray certainly impressed in camp but his primary role will start on Special Teams as Gary Brightwell remains ahead of the rookie in the RB room. Adam as always is excited to see young talent in expanding roles, making Gervarious Owens and Dane Belton in primary backup Safety spots an exciting prospect for the Sunday Night tilt with Dallas. The guys close out with. anote on Daniel Jones and thee Dallas Cowboys matchup. I t has not been a favorable one for the franchise QB, or the team overe the past few years. While a season is never one or lost on opening night, with record predictions in hand - it certainly feels like this as big a game Big Blue could have to kick off a heavily hyped season!

Adam welcomes in Coach Edd Gladney to help breakdown the skillset and development of two key Big Blue linemen. It is an excellent deep dive into how these fit the mold for Big Blue and hopefully fit the answer to the question: How does New York beat Dallas? Evan Neal enters year two with plenty to prove, and will be put right into the fire, matching up with DeMarcus Lawrence and the Dallas Cowboys in week one. Coach Edd highlights the areas where Neal struggled in his rookie season, and how the improved weight and technique this offseason should put him on the path to a strong sophomore campaign. John Michael Schmitz Jr. may be just a rookie, but coming out as a "plug and play" prospect has Adam setting the immediate high bar. They discuss not only JMS ability to anchor the center position but also situational football that could dictate how and when the rookie is asked to pull and become a lead blocker in the running game.
