Our summer with guests 😉! In the current episode Linda is talking to Rachel about intuitive eating. It goes well beyond food into politics of our eating culture or rather diet culture – full of chauvinism, able-lism, racism and more, digging out the roots of judgment when it comes to food, feelings of not being worthy, not being good enough when we don ́t uphold the current cultural standards of healthy eating (and of body shape).

Eating intuitively, mindfully, without judgment and shame is a way to a healthy body, moreover it creates a healthy and happy mind. It is full of acceptance, gentle steering and most of all mental freedom. Being free from thoughts about food, imposed by our diet culture (and diet industry), frees up our mental energy to spend it in a more meaningful and fulfilling way.

Rachel ́s eight-week course on intuitive eating, mindfulness and meditation in line with Buddhist philosophy is out soon.

Rachel is an anti-diet dietitian who provides intuitive eating and mindfulness instruction to clients through a Buddhist lens, incorporating factors of the noble eightfold path into her offerings with the goal of reducing suffering and promoting liberation.

In this episode Linda is coaching Manica on her decision to market herself as a general life coach and why she believes that this is best for her clients although it may be more difficult for her in terms of marketing, it is her deep belief that all areas of our lives are intertwined and how we do one thing we so another, thus progress in one area of life always impacts its entirety. Coaching changes our patterns and prior to focusing on a particular area of life, Manica suggests to have a deep look at your life in general and take stock, then dive deep into your authentic nature and design your new goals in line with your core values. With that you will have a much bigger chance of achieving your goal whatever it may be.

This episode is talking not only about the difference between a general life coach and a coach specialising in a certain area of life or a niche, but also about difference between therapy and coaching, as well as similarities. There is a beautiful analogy of therapy being foundations and coaching representing the house we build on those foundations.
