On this week’s Ohio Sports Magazine Matt Andrews is joined by Jeremy Birmingham of Lettermen Row to discuss the most recent recruiting class inked by Ohio State Football and Head Coach Ryan Day. They look back on that class and preview what might be left in 2021 and ahead in 2022. They also discuss the Ohio State rematch with Clemson in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. Also on the show this week, Ohio State incoming freshman Jack Sawyer, who joined 97.1 The Fan’s Morning Juice with Brandon Beam and Anthony Schlegel to discuss his recruitment by Ohio State.

As we ring in the 2021 year, we look back on the “Best of OSM” edition this weekend. Matt Andrews revisits conversations with former Ohio State Athletics Hall of Famer, the great Katie Smith. He also discusses covering the Buckeyes in Columbus with Beau Bishop, of our flagship station, 97.1 The Fan. Bishop co-hosts Bishop and Laurinaitis from 9AM – Noon weekdays. And the “best of” edition wraps up with a conversation with Neil Sika of the Columbus Crew discussing the impact fans had on the Crew staying in Columbus and helping them to their 2nd ever MLS Cup in 2020.

Joining Matt Andrews on this week’s Ohio Sports Magazine is former Ohio State Linebacker Anthony Schlegel. The duo discusses Ohio State football and the win over Clemson, along with looking ahead to Alabama in the National Championship Game Monday night. They discuss Schlegel’s strength and conditioning history, as a former coach, serving as an assistant at Ohio State, along with Schlegel’s involvement in the game still today. They also discuss Schlegel’s new adventure, serving as a co-host of The Morning Juice, weekday morning 6-9 on 97.1 The Fan in Columbus. Also, of note, some talk about high school football in the state of Texas, and the adventures of Schlegel in the wilderness – the man loves the outdoors!

This week on The Ohio Sports Magazine, Jeff Svoboda, Columbus Blue Jackets Insider, joins Matt to discuss the 2021 NHL season. The Blue Jackets are wrapping up their first week of a shortened season and Svoboda discusses the ending to last year, the current makeup of the team, the possibility of fans in the stands, and what the rest of the NHL season could look like with Columbus playing in the central division this year, not the metro.
