The penultimate Gardeners' World Winter Special of 2024 sees Frances Tophill presenting from Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh after we find out about Martin and Trixie from Big Cactus Rescue identifying cacti with their tongues on You Bet! We meet Sadie Barber - Research Collections Manager, Marc Gilbert – Glasshouse Horticulturist, Dr Olwen Grace - Deputy Director of Science, Milo Philips - Assistant Entomology Curator for National Museums Scotland, and Caitlyn Johnstone - Ecologist.
We join Carol Klein in Shropshire at Goldstone Hall Garden to enjoy a garden for all the senses before meeting Kevin Stewart in his garden in Hackney, London, Hackney where we learn about keeping orchids outdoors. We catch up with Sue Kent in Wales who gives us an update on her garden and we meet Jaap Schuuring from the Netherlands who shows us a great way of using up old Christmas trees. Nick Bailey is shown the cotinus at Thorp Perrow Arboretum by Curator Faith Douglas, and magician Graham Prigg from Cullompton in Devon shows us his collection of auriculas.
