Episode #77 - Weresalamander
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast
08/22/14 • 180 min
Featured Song: "Paris" by Magic Man
- Donya's filling in for Natalie on the recap this week - she's pre-coffee and prepared to fangirl.
- In our quotes section, there's lots of discussion about where Mason fits in all of this - he's not on the chessboard!
- This week's cold open was pretty shocking.
- Donya hated Haigh from the first moment he was mean to baby Derek.
- Karen is complaining about Umbridge again.
- Parrish survived that blaze - theories abound about what he is!
- Even nice people have their breaking point - for some, it's being set on fire, we guess.
- Did Derek's lack of power contribute to him not being able to identify Parrish.
- Stiles spends way too much time in that hospital.
- Donya wonders what kind of support cops who get injured on duty have, and, because she's not American, she's freaked out by the health care situation.
- So the dead pool is just going out to randoms now? How and why?
- Liam is very, very twitchy after his incident with the berserkers.
- Lots of Lydia this episode - we're pleased. How did she find out about her family history?
- Why was Scott panicking and counting the money? Our hosts both suspect different people.
- Is there any significance to the other people on the Lorraine Martin list?
- Derek's off the deal pool - we guess he's fully human now. We theorise why all the extra funds went to Liam's price.
- Why did Lydia put Stiles's name on that other list?
- It's bonfire time - oh, teens.
- What did we think of the music influence thing? Yay or nay?
- We'd really like Satomi to teach all the young wolves some tricks - please don't kill her!
- Did we think Brunski was the Benefactor? Karen got excited, Donya got a bit too technical.
- This tumblr post has messed with our heads.
- Karen is kind of sad that Brunksi is dead. What?
- We need Danny and his hacker skills, ASAP.
- Human Derek finally knows how to fight! He can't fall back on his automatic powers anymore.
- Parrish shot a guy - is that going to have consequences?
- Is Meredith acting alone? Is she a tool for someone, or a mastermind?
- What happened to the guy with the shoes?
- We get some good discussion out of a piece of feedback about Stiles's name being on that list.
- Because this is Teen Wolf, we're telling scar stories in our non sequitur section.
- In addition to our recap, we bring you an interview with Deputy Parrish himself, Ryan Kelley!
- Ryan tells us about what it was like to film this episode and be covered in soot all day, how it feels to be introduced to the Pack, his theories about what Parrish might be, and he gives us a bit of a hint as to what might end up being Parrish's fatal flaw. Oh yeah, and his thoughts on Parrish/Lydia, just in case you were wondering.

Episode #131 - Sense of Wonder
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast
09/06/16 • 92 min
Featured Song: "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack
- Kira won’t be back on the show in season 6, so we are honoring her memory with a chat about all the things that make her special.
- First things first - Teen Wolf is still ending. Will reflects on what this feels like inside the writers room.
- Kira is also his favorite Teen Wolf character of all time, so we had to get him on today.
- It’s probably because Kira is a fandom nerd, like us. Her reaction to the supernatural world was such a refreshing one.
- Tragically, losing Kira also means losing the perfect angel of a character that is Mr Yukimura. Kira’s parents were also an amazing presence on the show.
- Understanding your kid’s perspective is hard when your age gap is only 30 years. Noshiko has a thousand years of distance, but also a thousand years of wisdom.
- Allison vs. Kira - how hard was it to have a follow-up to such an epic first love for Scott?
- What did the lacrosse element add to it all?
- The sword belt gets its own dot point, obviously.
- We relive some of Kira’s best fights and battles.
- Was the Skinwalker story a good ending for her? For the writers, the stakes got so high with the kitsune’s balance problems that they couldn’t handwave the issues away.
- Kira’s time on Teen Wolf and her departure was theoretically only the first baby step of a massive journey for a character that has the potential to live forever and ever.
- Finally, Will gives us some MASSIVE HUGE SPOILERS about what we might be seeing in season 6... you heard it here first.

Episode #127 - Autonomy, Atonement, Avengers, Angels
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast
06/20/16 • 135 min
Featured Songs: "The Winter Soldier" by Henry Jackman and "Close Your Eyes" by Christophe Beck
- We were inspired by other media we've been working with a lot lately to talk about the accountability of characters who do really bad things while not under their own control, and whether the narrative in that particular fictional universe punishes them.
- We're focusing on examples of this in Teen Wolf, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Captain America: Civil War.
- True brainwashing or possession in which the original sense of self is removed or made into a helpless passenger is the level of mind control we're talking about - not just manipulation or conditioning.
- First of all, we talk about Angel in season 3 of Buffy - where we're up to on Rewatchable - and how the characters and the story treat him in the wake of his murderous time as Angelus.
- Does the narrative itself forgive him?
- Our second subject is Bucky Barnes. Who's shocked?
- We have seen Civil War nine times between us, and we do use this opportunity to air our general feelings, but they're mostly on-topic.
- Our discussion of Bucky mainly covers Tony's reaction to the reveal about his parents - was it justified? How did we feel about it?
- We also talk about what happened to Bucky in general and how his world is going to respond to his crimes.
- His sense of responsibility leads him to his choice at the end of the movie - we discuss the screenwriters' comments about whether this was a punishment.
- The main examples of this on Teen Wolf are Jackson with the Kanima, Stiles with the Nogitsune, and Mason with the Beast. Malia and Kira both have incidents that may fit into this category to.
- Jackson was physically marked as culpable for his actions with his blue eyes, and Natalie gets a Harry Potter fact very very wrong in explaining this.
- It's hard to pick apart what Stiles's actual, physical body was responsible for as the Nogitsune, but were there ever any witnesses who think it was really him?
- We talk about the cover-ups that occur when the supernatural causes havoc - does this help hide the real culprits?
- Is there any sort of actual supernatural jurisdiction? What about the special ward at Eichen, and the prison Kate was taken to?
- Was Mason aware of any of the Beast's actions at all? Will he be affected in future?
- Who's going to be a victim of mind control next season?
- Do the general Teen Wolf werewolves on the full moon fall into this beyond-own-control category?

Episode #124 - Alpha Juice Is Real
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast
03/04/16 • 76 min
Featured Song: "Neon Lights" by Pim Stones
- Despite Karen's threats, we are back to live another day.
- One Dread Doctor was bringing some sick burns this episode.
- Kira's sword subplot - Natalie has a weapon-related theory she thought was taken as a given - apparently not.
- Will she be forced to re-join the Skinwalkers?
- This Desert Wolf plot has been going on for ages, and it's yet another story that has a Hale at its beginning.
- Malia's trapped in a house with her mom - think they can work things out over a cup of tea?
- Karen mistakes pistachio nuts for peanuts, Natalie is offended.
- Why does Deucalion know the backstory of the Dread Doctors?
- Why does Parrish think he's to blame?
- How much about the "pack makes you stronger" is science and how much is metaphor?
- Does Scott plan to leave town for college?
- We discover why Tracy has been so unbearable.
- Is Deucalion making Theo do his dirty work? Probaby.
- Marie-Jeanne Valet was real. Kind of.
- Is Tank Guy alive or nah?
- Talk about being hopped up on Alpha Juice.
- We tried to warn you about the twin thing!!!
- Mason really is the Beast. How do we feel about how that's being handled?
- Sebastien got himself some better hair in the 21st century.
- Has Parrish sewed himself some special Hellhound pants?

Episode #122 - Epiphany Face
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast
02/19/16 • 95 min
Featured Song: "Mic Check" by GTA & TJR
- "What's a good descriptor for this episode?" "That depends on how you feel about lacrosse."
- Coach Finstock is back - a major plus.
- Some huge revelations about Parrish and his hellhound left us shocked.
- Karen's looking a bit too closely at Kira's underwear.
- Everyone in Beacon Hills has only one pair of shoes. Natalie has about 50.
- Parrish should not show up naked in the high school - he clearly didn't get enough tips on lurking teenagers from Derek.
- Is their freezing supersoldier chamber the same concept as Scott's ice bath?
- When the Beast's identity returns, is it merely going to take over the mind of the person it's currently in, or erase their body entirely?
- Brett and his sister are allies we approve of.
- If you're a Harry Potter fan, you should know a lot about one of the hellhound's other identities.
- Why does Parrish need to leave town?
- This just in: the kitsune is kind of a dick.
- Is the Desert Wolf moonlighting as a local reporter?
- Natalie admits that she doesn't really like [redacted.]
- Karen has a list of theories about the Beast and she's convinced herself they're all true.
- Next week: who is the Argent family's "familiar ally"?
- Our post-credits scene this week is an extended look at what happens as Karen and Natalie prepare to record. Enjoy.

Episode #121 - Stabby Pensieve
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast
02/16/16 • 111 min
Featured Song: "Find My Way Back" by Eric Arjes
- Hey, you can switch Instagram accounts now! Expect to see more from us over there.
- How is Theo comparable to Kylo Ren?
- Hell is real, and it's here on earth, thanks to #PuppyStyle
- Is the significance of the title going to play a bigger part?
- We final see the real live Meredith. Natalie still wasn't convinced.
- Is Liam actually the Hulk of Scott's Avengers?
- How are Parrish and Lydia connected? Is this a Rogue and Wolverine situation?
- Theo's Santa analogy. Really? Really?
- Tracey's a sociopath, but if the other chimeras join Scott, that could be a very interesting mix.
- Karen is very impressed by the blue fire CGI and would like OUAT to follow their lead.
- How do we feel about Valack's demise?
- Why was Lydia going along with his instruction?
- Was there a moment we'll look back on about Mason, if he happens to be the Beast?
- Lydia is still predicting they'll all die - is it to do with her, like a self fulfilling prophecy?
- Mmmm, mistletoe paste. Yummy.
- That pause was so long that we went through all the stages of grief.
- It looks like this was The Moment, for Stiles and Lydia - there's no denying that they're each other's #1 person now. But how is that going to play out?
- Apologies for the delay on this one - a major technical issue occurred. As a mere token of appreciation for your patience, check after the ending music for a special little clip from our archives.

Episode #64 - Stay Alive
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast
05/13/14 • 120 min
Featured Song: "Dead!" by My Chemical Romance
- Introducing Katie Myers (@MKate04) - the winner of MTV's Die On Teen Wolf competition!
- We hear Katie's experience with the competition, including the influence of her class of students.
- Naturally we want to hear all about her time on set, filming her death scene and her favorite memories.
- This sort of meanders off into our own love letter about the Teen Wolf set and crew - told you we'd be milking this for the next 400 years.
- We get the lowdown on the actual stunt work involved in Katie's death.
- Katie's students and school are a great mini-example of the way Teen Wolf just seems to take over everyone who gets exposed to it!
- The actual on-screen character deaths - are Teen Wolf's more traumatic than other supernatural shows?
- Are the frequent deaths on Teen Wolf an example of a strange sort of realism in the Beacon Hills world?
- For example, Boyd and Erica's deaths could both be the realistic result of unprepared kids and Derek's terrible life choices.
- Gore: Teen Wolf doesn't really hold back from it!
- We mention some of the show's grossest deaths and Karen makes a HORRIMAZING fire joke.
- While the digital SFX are sometimes not the best, the physical visual effects like make-up are really amazing.
- What were our most memorable character deaths on the show? We're all kind of in agreement for our number one emotional placement.
- Someone - looking at you, Will Wallace - probably has to do a lot of creepy death method research for this show.
- Once again, we wonder what physical damage can kill a werewolf - we're still a little confused about Boyd just getting poked by Derek's claws.
- We've had a few resurrections, of sorts, on the show. We talk about the different circumstances and what those stories could possibly bring.
- Allison's death drove home how fragile the human pack members are - one wrong step and they're gone. Will Scott become more protective of the humans and not allow them to participate anymore?
- Are there some characters who should have died?
- When it comes to villians, we wonder if maybe who survives and who gets killed says more about who is doing the killing.
- If we could bring someone back or erase a death, who would it be?
- Jackson got a death scene but they eventually decided to go with his survival and redemption. Have any other characters had close calls?
- Who might die in season 4?
- We let Katie ask us her non-sequitur question, which sticks with the horror theme!
- Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast and Hypable will be present at Indy Pop Con at the end of this month!

Episode #63 - All Your Dead Faves
Not Another Teen Wolf Podcast
05/02/14 • 61 min
Featured Song: "Holiday from Real" by Jack's Mannequin
- We got our own BiteCon panel! What the Hale?
- It's our first podcast in front of a live audience and we're not really sure what we're doing.
- More than one person came, though, so we're calling it a win.
- We're first joined by our favorite murderesses, Haley Webb and Felisha Terrell!
- It's the softer side of Kalifer - the ladies tell us about the redemption their characters sought from one another.
- We also hang out with Morgan Evans, creator of Teen Wolf's "After After Show." He shares a little about how he started the comedy aftershow for MTV and what they've been filming at BiteCon for use for the season 4 episodes!
- Tyler Posey feels the need to contribute from the back of the room.
- BiteCon's chairperson Lizz Finney joins us to talk about the massive task of putting on a fan-run convention, and what the BiteCon team wanted to achieve for the fandom.
- We grab another MTV pal Matt McDonough, who's in charge of maintaining Teen Wolf's relationship with fans, and we hear his thoughts on BiteCon as a fan experience and what he's learnt about fandom after four years of working with Teen Wolf.
- Interspersed with our special guests, we take questions and chat with other attendees about their experiences at the convention and about us as a show, from the technicality of structuring a show to our modus operandi in being a safe space within the fandom.
- Please forgive the slightly shaky audio quality, also the occasional coughing.

- This episode is all about the fan art community that's a major part of Teen Wolf fandom.

- Why is fan art something that people find so appealing?
- How did these artists get into creating fan art, and art in general?
- We talk about favorite characters to draw, who's difficult, and the divide between seeing the actor and seeing the character when creating fan art.
- Kendra does official recaps! We learn how that came about and a bit about the process of making them. Also, One Direction.
- Daunt makes tea! She gives us a lesson about blending the right flavors for Teen Wolf characters. Guess whose tea took eight tries?
- What's the convention experience like for a working fan artist? And what's the history behind selling fanart?
- We talk about other fandoms the girls have been involved with as artists.
- What other fan artists should you look out for, in Teen Wolf fandom and beyond?
