Welcome to the world of the Northland Artists Conversation. This is the first of 2 older podcasts that we are spotlighting because of their incredible power and how important they are when we first started this amazing journey. Please join us as we revisit the amazing story of critically acclaimed and best-selling author Lauren Roche.
A true story of hardships endured and hardships overcome, Laurens journey is nothing short of inspiring and captivating.
We discuss her life from growing up in Wellington, an unexpected boat ride to America, being a single teenage mother working in the sex industry through to her decision to re-educate herself and become a doctor. She talks about her long tenured career as a GP and her heartbreaking injury that led her back to her passion for writing. She has officially released her first novel 'Mila and the Bone Man' and we couldn't have been more excited for her!
This is an incredibly powerful podcast, and we urge both our supporters and first time listeners to listen or watch. Challenging and confronting at times, there is also humour and light as we witness the story of a phenomenal person who has overcome incredible adversity and emerged a better, stronger person. Thank you for sharing with us Lauren, there are not enough words to express how open you were to both us and our audience

Sumona was one of those artists that was such a lot of fun to talk with. The openness and honesty was a breath of fresh air. Definitely an amazing lady with a great sense of humour. Make sure you check out her podcast and all of our other amazing guests we have had on!
