Unfortunately, I’ve not found some miraculous cure to rid me of my meeting anxiety and nerves but I have realized a few tricks that make me feel more confident and comfortable when leading and participating in meetings. And I want to share what I’ve learned with you so that you can also run meetings with ease.

27. Emotional Strep Throat
Nobody Knows Podcast

As promised, we’re diving into the first part of the three-part series of my experience with burn out and taking a leave of absence. Spicyyy 😩
The purpose of sharing this with you is that I wish there were more detailed articles from a 20 year old’s POV to have supported me through that really scary time in my life. Or I wish I had known more about taking care of my mental health and actually resting.
I had no idea how to navigate, advocating for myself and fully succumb to rest. Being in my 20s, I really judged myself for needing a break. Who did I think I was to be tired so soon into my career? I’ve got another 30 years at least of working and I’m already giving out!? My advice is by no means the one point of truth, everyone who gets burnt out has a different experience but if you’re going through something similar, my hope is you will feel less alone navigating this uncertain time.

23. Are You A Professional Extrovert?
Nobody Knows Podcast
01/26/24 • 20 min
Are you extremely self conscious at work? Do you hate speaking up in meetings? Hate being in large meetings? Do you place great value on your career and want to continue succeeding? Do you recharge after a long day by spending time alone and doing things that bring you joy? You might be a Professional Extrovert, my friend!
I didn’t even know this term existed 5 months ago, but after my leave of absence and some intense therapy sessions, my therapist said, “it sounds like you are a Professional Extrovert.” Professional Extroverts can be described as those whose position deals with a lot of high traffic, whether that be fellow employees or clients. Furthermore, these individuals see themselves as introverts in their personal life. They are re-energized by being on their own and enjoy some form of solitude from time to time.
Sound familiar? If so. take a listen as I’m sharing tips on how to thrive in a social work environment when you're an introvert.

30. Healing Your Body Through Osteopathy with Florence Bowen
Nobody Knows Podcast
04/26/24 • 61 min
If I were to ask, are you familiar with osteopathy? What would be your response? I asked this in a poll on Instagram, 30% of you said it’s changed your life. 20% said y’all are somewhat familiar but want to hear more and then 50% of you said that you didn’t have a clue what it was. And I’m definitely in that last category.
While I’m trying to be more mindful of taking care of my body, I’d say I’m still stuck in the stereotypical mindset that working out and eating properly is the ONLY way to take care of myself. And I'd be wrong!
This episode's guest opened my eyes and helped to further change my preconceived ideas of how to take care of myself and further feel more confident, comfortable and grounded in my body.
Florence Bowen is an osteopathic care provider and movement enthusiast in Toronto. Her mission is to provide functional care for all. With an eclectic background that includes competitive athletics and dance, yoga and pilates instruction, and a deep knowledge of human kinetics, Flo brings a holistic approach to care.
She mentions that “For as long as she can remember, she’s dreamt of creating a physical space that holds a strong identity and cultivates community. For the past decade, her teaching and clinical practice has been dominated by perinatal and pediatric care. She’s super passionate about educating and supporting soon-to-be parents, new parents and all of their babies.
This episode is for anyone else who is curious about osteo and if they’d be suitable for it, plus for anyone who already knows what osteo and is looking to learn more! We’re discussing the benefits of osteopathy, the importance of pelvic health, and Flo’s entrepreneurial journey as she just opened up her private practice a little over a year ago.
