In 2015, on the eve of Valentine's day, the people of Halifax would learn that they aren’t exempt from the type of nightmares that play out on American news stations.

A local 19 year old James Gamble and his girlfriend, 23 year old American Lindsay Souvannarath, had taken the first steps in a plot to shoot and kill as many people as possible in the Halifax Shopping Centre food court before taking their own lives, just like the murderous pair they idolized... the Columbine shooters.

In part two of a series exploring the life and crime of the surviving would be shooter, the enigmatic Lindsay Souvannarath will finally break the silence she has maintained since boarding a plane to Nova Scotia with murderous intentions.

In ‘Life Before Choosing Death’ Nighttime will present portions of an extended discussion with Lindsay that walk us through the life she lived before she began planning her death. Throughout the conversation, Lindsay will provide background on many of the defining moments that formed her evolution from an above average kid in a loving family to a young women with an unwavering believe in nazism, a strong affinity towards all things Columbine, and a willingness to kill and die alongside a young man who shared her antisocial beliefs.

In a prior episode we learned about a 24 year old Brantford, Ontario woman who had been arrested on a collection of charges related to allegations she had been conning doula's into caring for her during non existent pregnancies and their imagined complications.

We've learned many new details about Kaitlyn Braun's alleged crimes since that episode and the story only gets weirder and more disturbing.

Over the past week two separate stories played out in Canadian news stories that seem pulled straight from the script of a horror movie;

In Brandford, Ontario a 24 year old woman was arrested on a collection of charges related to allegations she is a birthing fetishist and had conned doula's into caring for her during her non existent pregnancy and it’s imaginary complications.

In Edmonton, Alberta a 16 year old mass shooter shot his mother, killed two police officers, and is now a suspect in another random shooting at a pizzahut

It’s a common experience for men in Halifax... a friend of a friend was said to have had accepted an offer for a free ride home from downtown late at night, only to clumsily reveal a leather glove fetish along the way.
