NCF Sunday Talks

We are in battles every day of our lives. Let's follow what King Jehoshaphat and the People of Judah did when they were fearful of enemies just about to engage them in battle (2 Chronicles 20). They sought God wholeheartedly, reminding Him of His character and His previous actions on their behalf.
Let us not be passive in the battles we face, but move forward at God's time and remembering that He is our Warrior in all situations.

We come to the end of Elijah's ministry. He worked during the reign of three kings - a terrible time for Israel. There was a succession which God had prepared. Do we listen to God? Do we sometimes prepare our answers to potential questions from God before He has asked them? We might prefer Exclamation Marks in our lives rather than Question Marks, but may God help us as we live in the mystery of the Christian faith. May we seek to dwell in God's holy place every day of our lives. May we then make a difference to those living around us.

A lot seemed to be going wrong for Paul whilst on his Second Missionary Journey. He trusted God, because He knew the bigger picture of what was going on. We're encouraged to trust our faithful and living God too.

We look at some stories from the Bible where humans were having a bad time, but God stepped in and changed the situation because He is limitless. He can give us peace when we are desperate or weak. Our Mission hasn't paused or ended. As we continue to seek God for Nuneaton to be blessed, so He will use us to be a blessing to others.

God is at work around us, we just need to listen to Him and then get involved. He might ask us to do something small or something that will take great effort. We need God. We are totally dependable on Him. As He leads us to a higher rock, so we are both safe and we also see things from a better perspective. We can let God do the sums in what He asks us to do. We only need to be available.
