Why did you start this show?

The majority of my story ideas come from one of two sources. Either "sorting out my feelings about ___" or "challenging myself to write a story with ____ premise". My dad had played a lot of monster movies on the TV growing up, and just being near them, I picked up on a lot of patterns in those tropes. So in the case of The Corn Stalks, it's about monster movies in general, and the cliches I observed.

What do you hope listeners gain from listening to your show?

Just a taste of something bigger... if you can imagine it being a movie and think it would be cool, help us make it happen!

Which episode should someone start with?

Start with the trailer - it's the first two pages of the script. (You can technically start with Act 1 and not miss much).

What is your vision for your show?

The script was originally written and intended to be a film script. We would love to turn it into a movie someday. We're also looking at doing live performances.

How did you come up with the name for your podcast?

Years ago, around Halloween, I was at a spooky attraction at a farm. I was waiting in line to go in the haunted cornfield, and I saw a young couple approach. Suddenly, a ghillie suit burst out of the cornfield and ran at them. The woman screamed and fled. Meanwhile, the man was cracking up and said "The corn comes for you!" I looked across the field and imagined the words "The Corn Stalks" painted on the broadside of the barn. Then I didn't write the script for five years.
