Join us for the first of this year's Christmas Specials as we get merry for the festive season and Sooz introduces us to an unhinged rendition of Jingle Bells and tries to get Masud to climax to pictures of her boyfriend dressed in various costumes.

Have a great Christmas and we'll be back with our second Christmas Special on 2nd January (it's still the Christmas season OK)...

Slinking into the bar this week is none other than Nish Kumar. Critically acclaimed comic, internationally famed meme & wonderfully nice gentleman, Nish Kumar is a comedian, and a bloody good one at that. Since beginning his comedy career in 2006, Nish has achieved global success on the stand-up circuit with three rave reviewed solo stand-up shows receiving huge recognition from both industry & fans alike. In 2012 Nish’s debut solo show, ‘Who Is Nish Kumar?’ earned a spot on Dave’s ‘Ten Funniest Jokes of The Fringe’, a nomination for Best Show at the 2013 Leicester Comedy Festival & two sell-out runs at one of London’s most noted comedy haunts, The Soho Theatre. Since then he hasn’t stopped from appearing across our screens in many TV shows, and we’re very glad he managed to stumble into our joint.

Masud whipped up...

Filibuster

1.5oz Rye Whiskey

3⁄4 oz Lemon Juice

1⁄2 oz Maple Syrup

2 tbsp Aquafaba

Angostura Bitters

Add rye, lemon, maple syrup, and aquafaba to a cocktail shaker. “Dry shake” (that’s without ice) vigorously then add ice and shake again (this is a “wet shake”) strain into a coupe, garnish with angostura bitters.

Corpse Reviver

1oz Gin

1oz Cointreau

1oz Lillet

1oz Lemon Juice

Absinthe

Add a small amount of absinthe to a coupe glass and turn to coat the inside. In a mixing glass add the ingredients with ice and still until well chilled. Garnish with an orange twist.

At the Mystery on the Rocks bar you’ll find a retired sleuth, the bartender trying to settle his tab, and the down-on-her-luck lounge singer, solving mysteries and drinking cocktails. Each week a new guest enters the bar and attempts to solve an unsolved mystery alongside the regulars. Hosted by Masud Milas, Chris Stokes, and Sooz Kempner.
