He made three award-winning shorts before going freelance in 2013 and has since created content for Unbound, the RHS, The Big Issue and Arrow films, as well as producing 17 documentaries for History Hit. His debut novel, YA fantasy 'The Boy Who Stole Time', was published in 2018.

Award-Winning Writer and Actor - Rafiq Richard

Rafiq Richard is an award-winning writer and actor from South East London. He's the Writer of Walk Like A Black Man, a semi-autobiographical one-man show about meeting his black family for the first time when he was fifteen. A screenplay adaptation of Walk Like A Black Man called Black Sheep won him the ITV Triforce Comedy WritersSlam in 2015. He currently writes shorts for Arts Ed drama school and is working on a feature film screenplay about vampires, canapés and dead-end jobs.

We talk a lot about race and about his experience with a ghostly 17th century monk.
