John Keane is an artist who's probably best known for his commissioned portraits of the former Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Annan, for the United Nations, Mo Mowlam for The National Portrait Gallery, Jon Snow for Channel 4 and Greg Dyke for the BBC. In 1990, the Imperial War Museum commissioned him as an official war artist in the Gulf War. He’s worked on exhibitions with Christian Aid in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with Greenpeace in the Amazon against illegal logging and countless other shows and exhibitions. John Keane is guest 163 on My Time Capsule and he chats to Michael Fenton Stevens about the five things he'd like to put in a time capsule; four he’d like to preserve and one he’d like to bury and never have to think about again .
