When Christopher Dorner was in the LAPD, he blew the whistle on another officer that used excessive force on a mentally-ill person. Soon after, Dorner was fired from the police force. On February 3, 2013, Chris started a targeted murder spree and with it came one of the most bungled and chaotic manhunts in California history.

911 was called from a Maine home about an attempted suicide by Shane Cheetham in 2018. Shane died and the family grieved his loss.
In the following months, Shane's sister, Angela, found discrepancies between the state medical report and the police reports.
