The 'Wee Yin's' Acne Story
Mum,mum...MUM!
09/01/22 • 47 min
In honour of 'Acne Positivity Day', The 'Wee Yin' shares her story on what it was like suffering with acne from early teens to her early 30's with flare up's in pregnancy and the run up to the first wedding.
Bullying, self confidence and drinking to name just a few of things mentioned in this story,
The extremes that she went to achieve the 'perfect skin' was stupid and desperate and probably only made matters worse.
At 42 she still can't accept what she see's in the mirror and still wishes she had the 'perfect skin' but age and irreversible damage makes this a pie in the sky dream.
With more and more accounts on Social Media such as @its_just_acne 'normalising' ALL skin textures and taking us out of the 'FILTERED CULTURE AND SOCIETY' we live and breathe in, hopefully we go back seeing the beauty within and not is what is on the surface and stop judging people on their looks.
The 'Wee Yin' makes a pledge to try posting without filters but, when YOU don't like what you see looking back it's a difficult thing to do but, surrounding yourself with more of @its_just_acne like accounts and educating and training yourself to love yourself, one day it may all fall into place. Maybe that will happen by the time she is 50. We can only hope.
Happy Acne Positivity Day.

t's undeniable that the penny is not going as far as it used to. The 'Big Yin' and The 'Wee Yin' are now starting to feel the pinch. Summer is over, the kids are going back to nursery and school, hooray, so they might eventually get a 'no spend day' soon. Is it too late though?
With only four monthly pay days till Christmas, yes I went there and mentioned the 'C' word it dawns on the two mums that it's literally just round the corner but with energy prices soaring, the price of petrol coming down at a snails pace, the cost of living is rising but wages not so what are the mums doing to make ends meet?
What help is out there for people who need it? The 'Big Yin' and The 'Wee Yin' share their hints and tips on what they have done to cut back and also what else is out there for everyone. We all need a little help to make the pound go further.
Thank you and What's to Come in Season 2

The 'Wee Yin' brings what you can expect in the *BRAND NEW* episode dropping this week. It's all about School Uniforms.
What the kids wants and what they get are two completely different things when it comes to uniforms. Where to buy their uniforms is another torturous decision. So many things to take into account, cost, washability, fit, easy fit, availability, and value for money.
Also, are you eligible for the uniform grant in Scotland and did it help. The average uniform costs £100 but is it really?
Join us this week while we discuss all the chat on the BRAND NEW EPISODE coming away from holiday stress and into uniform chat.

*Part 1 of 3 of the Holiday Special*
The 'Wee Yin' and 'BIG' AKA her husband Craig (also from Tikinover Podcast) talk about the stress and build up of holiday stress.
Now that doesn't mean 'booked it, packed it, f*cked off' holiday, it can also mean, 'the summer holiday's are coming up, how am I going to keep the kids entertained for 6 weeks?', 'How can I keep the costs down for the 6 weeks'. If it is a staycation in the UK do you start stressing a week or so before with everything that needs done beforehand, pets to be dropped of with kennels, family members or friends, new clothes to be bought for kids, work to be caught up on and finished before you officially put the 'out of office on', dealing with excited children who are continuously counting the days down?
And do MEN actually get stressed about the same things MUMS do on the run up or on the day they leave? I (the 'Wee Yin') often wonder that. Craig , to keep the peace never says a word, his face does but he silently just breaths I think and lets me have my moment knowing it will pass so it will be interesting to see what he says LIVE and UNEDITED on the podcast.
Depending on what is said maybe they might not even make the holiday. HAHA!
*Part 1 of 3 of the Holiday Special*
06/20/22 • 10 min
The summer holidays are nearly upon us this week and no matter how you look at it, at some point either before now, during them or when they are coming to an end it brings some sort of stress to your life. If your staying at home for example your trying to find things to keep them entertained, praying for good weather, maybe sticking to a budget, restricted by travel or have work commitments. If your going abroad you might be worrying about last minute cancellations, passports not arriving in time, the heat where ever your going, how the kids will cope abroad, if you will cope abroad or if you have you bought enough clothes. Finally, if you are having a staycation in the UK are you worrying about the rail strike, the fuel prices, the ever changing weather situations and getting pets looked after. All these things pop into your head over and that is just in the RUN up to the holidays.
So for the sake of our sanity we will be doing HOLIDAY STRESS in 3 parts, yes 3 parts. This is just part 1 coming to you on Friday. We got you, we know what it's like, The 'Big Yin' had it last week, I have it this week. Hopefully she makes it this week but if not Hubby will be there to lend a hand maybe asking 'what holiday stress?' so that might be fun.
Not long to go but no matter what we will provide the laughter and the support to assure you all is not lost and you are not alone! T minus 3 days.
Episode 7 - What to expect - Mum Image
Mum,mum...MUM!
06/07/22 • 6 min
Just your fortnightly update from 'The Wee Yin' to let you know what's in store for this week's podcast.
The maws are talking about 'Mum image' this week. So many questions and not enough time I suspect for this weeks episode. You can hear it now, how they look? do they care? do they feel like they embarrass their weans? do they feel they dress like a mum? do they feel judged for how they dress? do they care what people think? does it go past their image though i.e. their image of their house, car, the brands they buy, the clothes their children wear, the list is endless.
Ultimately it comes down to the mums who have the strength to not give a flying toss what others think but there is probably not as many of them as you think there are.
Tattoos are Permanent, Some Dads aren't
Mum,mum...MUM!
09/16/22 • 69 min
The 'Big Yin' and The 'Wee Yin' are joined by two very special guests this week, Craig from @whitsthescript2022 AKA Shona's husband and Danielle Stevenson from Caritas Legal Solicitors.
The 'Big Yin' tells what it was like growing up waiting for her dad on Sunday's and what it's like a single mum when trying to do what is best for her son when it comes to having the wee man's dad in or out of his life for best.
The 'Wee Yin' tells explains what it's like when things were all great for longest time until they weren't and when they turned by that time her daughter was a teenager who doesn't want you to interfere and just wants you to 'leave it'. She feels things are 'broken' between them but doesn't know what to do for the best.
Craig recalls what it was like sitting with kids waiting for their dads to come and not appearing for him to deal with the upset, anger and disappointment. Also, what it's like when you are in a long-term relationship and it breakdown and you separate you have no legal rights to see they kids who you have created a bond with sometimes for years. It can be heart breaking.
Danielle gives us all some amazing advice on where everyone stands now with the changes in the law, at what age the children's voice is now taken into account, how decisions are ALWAYS made on what is best for child and much more.
This is only the start of the conversation for this topic. Keep your ears peeled for more info.
