Why Do Black Boys Get Excluded More? Why does a school feel permanent exclusion for a 5-year-old is necessary? Why are teachers not being supported by the government? So many questions that we tackle on today's school exclusion special. DOWNLOAD YOUR FREE CONFIDENCE MEDITATION HERE: http://www.veenav.com/meditation

School exclusions (permanent exclusions and fixed term exclusions) are close to my heart as my son was excluded 7 times in Year 7. He is currently not attending any school, the effects on him and our whole family have been significantly detrimental. We are joined by 3 incredible women on the podcast today who give us a real insight into the different perspectives of school exclusions; a parent, an ex-teacher in a mainstream school, and an assistant head in a special school.

Marsha's son was excluded at the age of just 5 from his first primary school, she talks to us about taking the school to court, the discrimination she faced as a black women and how her son was left out of education for 4 months. Ruby Suze is an ex-teacher, she shares how the lack of black educational leaders and teachers has an effect on exclusion rates and why she left the teaching profession. We are also joined by my son who sits down to interview Jules Daulby, an assistant headteacher. Jules believes the majority of school exclusions should not be taking place and school's need to do everything they can to hold on to students 'There is always a way' to keep all children in education.
