For this Earth Day special where we discuss Captain Planet and the Planeteers an early 90's cartoon that raised awareness about pollution and taking care of our only home BUT also dove deep into drug addiction, HIV/AIDS and other topics some would say are too heavy for children's programing.

It bodes well for a children's show that can invoke geopolitical and socioeconomic discussions as well as human rights topics, who would of thought our favorite Eco-Hero would be about more than just recycle, reduce, reuse.
