Jane Evans & Carol Russell - The Future of… Women!
09/16/21 • 59 min
Jane Evans' TBD talk still gets raised eyebrows and toasts. Turns out, if you call your talk 'You ungrateful Motherf*ckers', people sit up and take note. Jane and co-author, Carol Russell, join me to discuss their book 'Invisible to Invaluable: Unleashing the Power of Midlife Women' (available now). In this episode we celebrate what midlife women do, who they are and what they are capable of, the book is a rallying cry for them (and everyone) to change the world for the better. Where are things heading? How do we fix what the pandemic has done to women? Expect expletives.
About Jane: (@janee)
Before becoming CEO of Uninvisibilty, the movement and rallying cry to wake up the world to the plight and potential of midlife women, Jane Evans has had a stunning career in advertising. She gave Cate Blanchett her first job, created Australia's first craft beer, and ran her own multi-million dollar agency with Revlon and Maserati for clients. After 31 years of working full pelt (12 as a single mum), she needed a break. Two years to be exact. After this, Jane found that she - and others like here (read: older women) couldn't get jobs in AdLand. Strange considering women over 50 are the most powerful consumer group on the planet who buy 47% of everything. Sick of the statistics surrounding suicide/debt/, Jane gathered the troops, and the movement started...
About Carol: (@voices4real)
Award-winning Screenplay and scriptwriter Carol Russell, is no stranger to tough subjects or breaking barriers. Whether it's the BAFTA-nominated, SOON GONE: A WINDRUSH CHRONICLE, celebrating the 70th anniversary of The Windrush or the BBC's 'House of Usher', Carol's work changes hearts and minds around the world. Carol is currently writing two episodes of the 9th Series of Stone for BBC Radio 4 and is now on the prestigious Criterion New Writing Programme.
