Officials with the Knoxville Police Department confirmed that Friday’s Fountain City shooting was sparked by a fight between two biker gangs.

The shooting happened at Hatmaker’s Bar & Grill around 9:45 p.m., according to KPD’s Scott Erland. “A fight broke out in the parking lot of Hatmaker’s and shots were fired, resulting in the death of a member of the Outlaw Motorcycle Club and a member of the Pagans Motorcycle Club, two outlaw motorcycle gangs,” Erland said.

Two others, a member of the Outlaws and a member of the Pagans, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

An effort is underway to raise money to purchase a handicap equipped motorcycle for a beloved member and longtime advocate for the disabled community in Central Texas.

Jimmy Morena, 39, affectionally known as “Wheels,” was born with Spina Bifida, a birth defect that occurs when the spine and the spinal cord do not develop completely. He has lived his entire life in a wheelchair, but his disability has never held him back.

Jimmy is a former No Limitations and Challenger League athlete and now sits on the board for No Limitations, a non profit which provides sports opportunities for those with disabilities.
