From the biographers: In the early morning hours of June 29, 1978, Bob Crane, star of the popular 1960s television series Hogan's Heroes, was murdered. As he slept in his Scottsdale, Arizona, apartment, he was brutally bludgeoned to death with what detectives believe was a camera tripod. It was a gruesome crime scene, and Bob's murder remains unsolved to this day, continuing to baffle detectives and law enforcement. Bob had been appearing in his play, Beginner's Luck, in Scottsdale, and the run of the show was nearing its end.
