316 Ministry - Morning Faith - Where are you going?
Has your life slipped into a rut? The definition of a rut has been given as, “A grave with the ends kicked out.”
Why am I alive, what is my goal, where am I headed? Have you ever wondered about the answers to these questions? The Bible has the answers.
The Bible talks about the apostle Paul. Paul was born into a position, both socially and politically, that was as privileged as anything that day had to offer. He was born a Roman citizen in a time when the Roman empire encompassed 80 percent of the known world; he was born into a family that could afford to have him taught by the best teachers of the day; he was born into a family that was among the influential group in the Jewish faith, which controlled the Jewish people under the authority of the Roman supervisor of the area. When he was a “young man” he was influential in his own right in the affairs of this powerful body. He was learned, relatively rich, and yet there was no motivating force in his life beyond the desire to persecute Christians which he was very good at.
The on the road to Damascus, Paul met Christ. The effect of this meeting was so great that Paul amazed all of the people that knew him. His persecution of the Christians ceased and he began to preach the way of Christ.
Now he wrote, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” Philippians 1:21. He felt even dying would profit him for he would go to be with Christ. Now in Christ he lived and moved and had his being.
Paul stated that, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:14. His God given goal was to be “a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God” Romans 1:1. You and I may be called to do various things from missionary work to the job at which we are now working, but we must know Christ in order for Him to give us this higher purpose.
Christ can do for each of us that which He did for Paul, give us a meaning, an objective, and a joy in life. However, the thing that separates us from Christ is sin. This applies to all people in the world. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23.
But God, because of his love for us, has made provision for our salvation. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8.
Christ has made payment for our sins and all we have to do is take the gift by acknowledging that we have sinned and asking for forgiveness.
As with Paul, a choice to follow Jesus can be just the change in our life’s focus that we need to provide purpose and motivation.

316 Ministry - Morning Faith - Why do I always worry
Today we will be talking about one of the biggest mental health issues which is so common in our culture but it is often overlooked and ignored.
According to the World Health Organization, Americans have a bigger problem with worry than people in any other country.
Because of a sinful nature of worry, we tend to default to fear and not faith. This is pretty obvious when we realize we are not awake at 2 am trying to figure out how to manage peace and joy.
We tend to experience worry in our minds. We generally experience anxiety in our bodies. Worry is often very specific to something and anxiety is generally broad. Examples might be that you are worried about missing a flight and anxious is more about traveling the entire trip.
An approach to consider is to take a few minutes and write down the top worries you have in your life right now. It is important to be honest because these are your current vulnerabilities.
Now, you can take your list and compare it with some of the five biggest topics that most of us worry about. Finances, food, fitness, fashion, and future.
There are many areas in the Bible that Jesus tells us not to worry. Let’s get specific...
Finances - Matthew 6:24 “...You can’t serve both God and money. [Finances]”
Food, Fitness, Fashion – Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; [Food] or about your body [Fitness], what you will wear [Fashion].”
Future – Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow [Future], for tomorrow will worry about itself...”
If your problem has a solution, why worry. If your problem does not have a solution, why worry.
Jesus makes a convincing argument as to why we shouldn’t worry.
Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
Today, you might think about things as Concern and Worry.
Concern: My marriage is struggling... Worry: I will lose my wife.
Concern: I gained 12 pounds... Worry: I am going to start having health issues.
Change your thinking to Concern and Action.
Concern: My marriage is struggling... Action: Get counseling.
Concern: I gained 12 pounds... Action: Cut back on soft drinks.
Concern focuses on challenges and moves you to action. Worry focuses on what’s beyond our control and results in inaction.
Matthew 6:27 “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
Just remember, worry actually makes mental health worse.
God is not going to let you down. It might not be the answer that you are expecting but it will always be the right answer. You are very valuable to Him.
When you worry, you are basically saying:

316 Ministry - Morning Faith - Be Still
316 Ministry - Morning Faith – Be Still
"Be still and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10
In today's fast-paced world, it can be easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life.
We often fill our days with activity and noise, and we can forget to take time to be still and connect with God.
But Psalm 46:10 reminds us of the importance of stillness.
When we are still, we can hear God's voice more clearly.
We can connect with Him on a deeper level and find peace and rest in His presence.
So, take a moment today to be still.
Turn off the noise around you, quiet your mind, and focus on God.
Know that He is with you always, and that in His presence, you will find the rest and peace your soul longs for.
May we all learn to be still and know that He is God. Amen.
