More Than Fine

More Than Fine

Uncommon Valor

If you’re like me, there was a time when everything seemed to be going just fine. Until it wasn't. I don't know what it's been for you. Maybe a divorce. Sickness. Rejection. Addiction. Abuse. Bankruptcy. Loss. Whatever it is, I know it has you asking, "Can my life ever be good again?" But what if I told you that your place of trouble is also the place where hope is found? I know it doesn't make sense but from what I've seen, it's how God does things. And that means you're not stuck – and you're not staying here. He's the One who says, "I will...transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope." (Hosea 2:15) In His hands, things are going to be more than okay. You are going to be more than fine. Welcome to the More Than Fine Podcast, where we explore how sacred reconnection with Jesus breaks the cycle of trauma & shame. All of us have some kind of wounding when it comes to the ways we were raised. Whether you had overtly neglectful or abusive parents, or parents who had the best of intentions but still passed on unhealthy habits, the wounds we receive impact us and the way we parent our own kids. Christina Fox shares how the way we were parented distorts our image of God, but how correcting that image can help us see more clearly who God truly is as our perfect parent. She also discusses the difference between punishment and discipline, and details how understanding the way God coaches us can help us to set more effective standards with our own kids.
