Ep051: Amar Ghose
More Cheese Less Whiskers
07/02/17 • 74 min
Welcome to the MoreCheeseLessWhiskers.com podcast. Today we have a great conversation with Amar Ghose. Amar and some of his partners run software as a service for maid companies called ZenMaid.com.
We talked about a lot in this episode. It's very fractal in that we jump around talking about each of the Profit Activators and how there are specific things to focus on in the During Unit including how people use your service and what the dream come true experience is that you provide so you can highlight that in the Before Unit.
We also got to talk about some great example of separating the compelling elements of Profit Activator two from the convincing education of Profit Activator three. In Profit Activator two, we want to focus on only the job of getting people to raise their hand. We want to start a dialog. We want to turn invisible prospects into visible prospects.
I think you're going to find all this very helpful if you have any kind of an ongoing membership service, so tune in!

Ep027: Mark Gray
More Cheese Less Whiskers
01/15/17 • 0 min
Welcome back to the More Cheese, Less Whiskers podcast. My name is Dean Jackson and today we're going to be talking with Mark Gray.
Mark is one of the Double Vision Fitness twins who own five personal training gyms outside of London in the UK. They have impressed me over the four years I've known them by being disciplined executors. They have conscientiously applied the Breakthrough Blueprint principles, and the 8-Profit Activators as an operating system.
We had a really great, in depth conversation about each of the Profit Activators and dove deep into some of the metrics that help identify where the opportunities are. It's really interesting to me that they started out with a very narrow target market but as their experience and capabilities have developed, they are appealing to a much broader target audience.
You'll see how we bring that around here in the conversation as we looking at the opportunity to just get people started, coming into the gym. The opportunity to get people coming in and starting a trial where they can get all set-up, get themselves assessed, get on a workout plan and then continue on in perpetuity.
They've got really great retention, once people get going, so we mostly spent a lot of time brainstorming how to get more people to take that first step.
You can imagine that my recommendation was more cheese, less whiskers!
I think you're going to enjoy this episode.

Ep021: Lane Dawg Bowers
More Cheese Less Whiskers
12/04/16 • 0 min
This week I have my good friend Lane Bowers, who lives here in Winter Haven, Florida. We always have the greatest fun. He's got a super business. He's one of the top barefoot water ski instructors in the world, and he has a ski school here in Winter Haven. He also has all kinds of boating and barefooting equipment for his site, TheFootersEdge.com. We've had so much fun over the years and if you remember, we had a campaign selling Lane's instructional DVD that was a little bit outside of the box.
We're going to talk a little bit about that, go down memory lane, but the purpose of today is to hatch an evil scheme for a Christmas promotion that I've had for years. We've used it once before, but I want to get this out into your hands before Christmas, so that if you have a local business or a business that you have something that someone might be able to give or receive for Christmas, I think you're really going to enjoy this episode.
I'd love to hear from you, because I'd love to see all the different ways that we can implement this strategy. If you have a business that this would fit for, or you'd like to brainstorm a promotion like this, send me an e-mail to [email protected], and put "Christmas" in the subject line. It would be great to get a lot of different people trying something like this idea for this Christmas season.
Enjoy this episode, and then let me know if you'd like to do something like this for your business.

Ep252: The Magic Behind the Motivation with Eric Anderson
More Cheese Less Whiskers
08/06/23 • 54 min
Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, we're talking with Eric Anderson, professional magician turned speaker who shares his journey from foster care to speaking in front of large audiences.
We talk about how focusing on connecting with your audience can yield big returns. How he's used joint venture partnerships and book giveaways helps expand his audience and attract people interested in public speaking, and how he created a flagship email to stay in touch with people by featuring clients' business victories.
We also discuss why documenting your journey is so compelling and creates a blueprint others can follow.
This is a fascinating episode with lots of ideas to take away.
Summary
1. Eric Anderson's journey took him from foster care to professional magic to motivational speaking. His unique experiences allow him to help others unlock their potential and effectively share their stories for paid engagements. 2. Eric emphasizes that the size of an email list is not as important as who you're reaching and how you connect with them. 3. He discusses a case study of a client who broke the six-figure mark with a small email list, demonstrating that it's about reaching the right people, not just having a large audience. 4. Anderson explains why some people may not achieve their desired results and highlights the importance of documenting success stories to create a roadmap for others. 5. He shares strategies that have driven his success, including joint venture partnerships and book giveaways. 6. Eric’s book giveaway has helped expand his outreach, attracting those interested in public speaking. 7. ‘Eric’s Escapades Reality Show’, his weekly email series, play a crucial role in enticing people to attend his workshops. 8. Eric believes that every email sent out can open doors for growth and expansion. 9. He holds free seminars twice a year and is currently testing a paid version of that and private coaching. 10. Anderson guarantees to help people make three times their investment back with his program and has had clients who have seen many multiples of their investment with him.

Ep058: Ben Frank
More Cheese Less Whiskers
08/20/17 • 73 min
Today we're talking with Ben Frank from the hockey hotbed of Orange County, California!
You don't really think about Orange County, California as a hockey hotbed, but he's a fellow Canadian and is very involved in junior hockey development in California, where they have a really great program.
We talked a little bit about where the kids who join the programs come from and how, if they start early, they might stick with the programs for 10 years.
We discussed ways of stoking the fire, the front end of this by exposing skating, really the gateway to hockey, to the parents of three and four-year-olds. That’s really one of the biggest opportunities because the more those kids are exposed to hockey, skating, the hockey rink and the environment as a whole, the more it would be a natural progression for them to take an interest in hockey.
We talked about it as one of the ‘dig your well before you're thirsty’, strategies. To know that today's three and four-year-olds are next year's five and six-year-olds. By going a little bit upstream and widening the pool of people that could be interested, we get more potential clients to choose from.
We had a great conversation around this and some other strategies, breaking down his before, during, and after units.
I think you'll enjoy this episode.

Ep190: Chris Davis
More Cheese Less Whiskers
06/29/20 • 73 min
Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, we're talking with Chris Davis, and if you are a copywriter, web designer, any freelance practitioner, I think you're really going to enjoy this episode because it speaks directly to the situation you might find yourself in.
If you're a great freelancer, a great copywriter, a great web designer, and you're doing your work with clients, but every time you get a new client, you're creating original work and building a reputation with them, and there's no equity in that.
There's not a sense that you're building assets that deliver recurring revenue for you.
Whenever I have a conversation with a freelancer, with someone who's doing client work of any kind on a freelance, or agency or a consulting basis, the conversation inevitably turns to how can we create equity for you?
So this is one of those conversations, and if you are a skilled practitioner that can put words or images on a screen or on paper, or do something that creates revenue, creates value for other people, then we're just a couple of tweaks away from you being able to create assets that you can deploy with the goal of creating recurring revenue for you.

Ep206: The Self Milking Cow pt1
More Cheese Less Whiskers
10/25/20 • 66 min
Today on the More Cheese Less Whiskers podcast, I'm going to share part 1 of a 3 part podcast series that Joe Polish and I did way back in Episode 12 of the I Love Marketing podcast, talking about the concept of the self milking cow.
It's particularly relevant now because Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy have just released their new book 'Who Not How' and this concept was the genesis of that idea. So it's a great time to listen to the behind-the-scenes thinking that evolved to their big concept.
Over the next two weeks, I'll share the other parts of this series, and what I'd recommend is that you listen to all of these, but more importantly, go get a copy of Who Not How. It truly is a revolutionary book that will make a big difference in your life.
You've heard me talk a lot about this idea of being the cow and not succumbing to the temptation to be the self milking cow, trying to do it all yourself. Well, this is the framework and the philosophy that gets you there.
It's a great time of year to contemplate going into 2021 with a real Who Not How plan to multiply your efforts in the coming years.

Ep056: Wendy Gardner
More Cheese Less Whiskers
08/06/17 • 68 min
Welcome to the MoreCheeseLessWhiskers.com podcast.
Today I’m talking with Wendy Gardner, a skincare specialist in the UK. She has a line of skincare products that she lovingly creates by hand, with all the finest natural ingredients. She offers a really individualized approach to skincare.
We had a conversation talking about how to differentiate the skincare line itself, but in the second half of the conversation we dialed it in and talked more along the line of creating an experience for customers. Completely repositioning the way she looks at the relationship with them.
As you know, when you listening to these shows, I don't have any foreknowledge of what kind of business people have or a specific plan of where I want the call to go, but I think by exploring who your target audience is and who are your ideal clients and the result you could create for someone, it reveals the biggest opportunities.
We settled on the idea of creating a 90-day experience for people where they get to go full immersion and bundled her products with an educational process. That does a lot of different things. It shifts the attention away from the commoditized pricing of your products, and it focuses 100% on the result at the end of the 90 days, of which, the products are sort of incidental to that or just one part of the journey of it.
It has a lot of potential for anyone who can create journey that focuses on the outcome and I can't wait to see how Wendy takes this to the next level.
