Halloween or Reformation Day? Part One
10/19/21 • 12 min
Do you celebrate Halloween, All Saints Day, All Hallow's Eve, or Reformation Day? That is the question.
Today I share a bit of my Journey in life on these subjects. Where do you stand on them? Do you know anything about them or just celebrate them because it's what your family has done before you?
The Episode starts with a story, of course.
I grew up in southern Ca on the other side of the railroad tracks from Compton where the Riots happened in the 1960’s. Seeing bars on the windows of the homes were commonplace. I remember a burglar walking in the front door while we were in the backyard but Mom was just walking back in with a bowl of wet dogwood in her hand when she saw him. All of us children were right behind her and saw the funny picture before us. A short little crazy German woman threatening a tall lanky black young man with a bowl of dog food as she yelled and screamed at him to get out of her house and stay away from her children. The poor guy didn’t know what hit him! He ran towards a side hall and tried to jump out the window but there were bars on the windows so he ran back out past Mom saying ok Lady, Ok Lady, just calm down..... (listen in for the rest of the story)
I also share a few ways that our family has spent our time on Halloween. Time to be in prayer, and in the Word of God to be led by the Holy Spirit in the way your should spend your time for the Kingdom.
I'd love to hear your stories of how you bring glory to God. Send me a recording here

The Communion, Coffee, and Cake Connection
Yes Virginia, there really is a connection between Communion, Coffee, and Cake.
Relationship between God and others is developed in these areas that help us grow as individuals and more in love with our God so we can share His love with others.
For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, "This is my body which is [broken] for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me" (1 Corinthians 11:23-25).
And in Mark, written between 75-80 A.D. we read of the scene of Jesus' Last Supper:
And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, "Take; this is my body." And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. And he said to them, "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many" (Mark 14:22-24).

Halloween or The Reformation? Part Two
Which one wil it be?
Have we taken the time on our knees to find out what the lover of our souls wants for us? Will we be evangelists or ambassadors? Will we be cowards or walk and stand for the truth? Will we let others judge our convictions in the Lord? Today's podcast brings up the history of Martin Luther during the Reformation. It's been over 500 years since that day that he nailed the 95 Thesis on the door of the All Saints Church in Wittenberg Germany.
Luther is no longer here, but we are. It's our turn now. Will we stand and fight for the truth or will we turn our backs on the Truth? The only way to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might is to be on our knees and be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit
