Now, so often on our travels people ask about how poppy mae is so good at signing & this is my explanation! In this episode I share all about how we got started, what tools we use, and how to maybe introduce signing to YOUR life & child.
ASL TOOLS:
My Signing Time
MyGo ASL

WARNING! IF THE STICK MOVES, DON’T TOUCH IT!

Momo had the pleasure of learning this little tidbit from Adam Hudson, who is married to The High-Achieving Housewife, Eloise! Her podcast, with the same name is one I’ve spoken about before on MOMadic Adventures... it highlights women who aspire to be more than a housewife/parent. Which as you know... I am!
(You can also click HERE and listen to ME on an episode of HAH)
While Eloise and Adam don’t travel as much as our family... they’re my ~future~ travel goals for sure! Every summer the Hudson family gets in an RV and travels with the plan to GET OUT OF THE HEAT of Texas! They share how they decide on a camp spot... because SEPTIC is apparently quite important when you’re in an RV. We talk about how they RV life chose them, and how their GRUMBLE was key in making that decision. We all learn a little bit, and a have a couple of laughs along the way.
Be sure to head to social media to see images from the experiences they’ve had!

If you know me (momo), you know that I am far removed from organized religion in so many ways that I wasn’t totally sure MaryB. and I would have anything to chat about BUT I knew this conversation was important to have. SO WE DID! It was uncomfortable, hilarious, and eye opening at so many points! She has done some traveling and so that was the first point of conversation, but very quickly it turned into me learning about her experience with her faith, her congregation, and navigating life as a queer person.
Our experiences with religion and life had been so different. I felt as thought I was speaking with a person so drastically different than I, that I just wasn’t sure what was going to happen. Although we don’t believe the same things; it turns out we’re looking for the same thing in the end. Community. Love. Acceptance.
For those who don’t know MaryB. Safrit is a New York City-based writer, relationship coach, and host of the Found Family Podcast. She writes and talks about community, faith, queerness, and relationships. She is so open, honest, and beautifully spoken. I hope this episode encourages someone to see someone experiencing life so differently than you & still inspire you to make a connection.
