Meet How2Mom Client & Fellow Twin Mama, Sarah! After having a noncomplicated vaginal delivery with her singleton, her and her partner decided to opt for a Cesarean to safely deliver her identical twin girls. Learn why by listening to the entire episode. This birth story is such a beautiful example of the parents making the decision that felt best for THEM! Not by being told what or how to deliver their babies. I am still so inspired by this mama for her courage and strength! Enjoy!

Rebuild your confidence. Resume your life. Reclaim your normal.
Mom 2 Mom Podcast
06/12/23 • 37 min
Join us for today's episode with Dr. Katherine Shephard, Doctor of Physical Therapy who is driven by a passion to help people through improving pelvic floor health, which she believes has been overlooked and under-treated for too long.
After acquiring her BA in Politics and International Relations from Scripps College, she tried out various careers - from coaching golf to selling granite monuments - but upon learning about physical therapy, she knew she had found her true calling.
Not wanting to lose any more time, she threw herself into her doctoral studies at the University of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. While there, other parts of her life continued to grow and change: she welcomed two daughters over the course of finishing her studies.
Along with treating patients and running New Normal PT, she also mentors other pelvic health physical therapists and lectures at St. Catherine University in their doctor of physical therapy and physical therapist assistant programs.
With three littles at home, she can relate to parents and translate her care to work with their busy lives. She loves cooking, watching musicals, traveling, and sleeping through the night.

Nourish Baby & Me with Haley Miskowiec, How 2 Mom's Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Mom 2 Mom Podcast
05/22/23 • 31 min
Haley helps expecting mamas have a healthy, feel good pregnancy by helping them eat confidently to grow a healthy baby & feel good in their pregnancy body.
After her dietetic internship, she began her career with the Women, Infant, and Children program which is where she fell in love with helping expecting mamas achieve a healthy pregnancy. After seeing hundreds of expecting mamas, she started to see a pattern that they were coming into their appointments confused, scared, and misinformed about how to apply what they had been told at their doctor appointment to achieve a healthy pregnancy along with how they could simply change what they were eating to help them manage the symptoms they were experiencing.
Learn more about Haley, her services and her Nourish Baby & Me Program in today's episode.

It's Tough for Dads Too
Mom 2 Mom Podcast
08/28/24 • 37 min
Ryan Flash, a Twin Cities therapist specializing in working with dads, discusses the unique challenges fathers face in adjusting to parenthood and the importance of seeking support. He highlights the lack of resources for dads compared to moms and emphasizes that men are increasingly seeking therapy to become better fathers and partners.
Ryan's practice, Discovery Mental Health, offers individual therapy and a group program called Launchpad Dads, designed to help fathers navigate the emotional and practical aspects of parenthood. He stresses the importance of dads doing their own research and building community with other fathers. He also discusses common issues dads face, such as postpartum depression and anxiety, and how therapy can help them understand and manage their emotions, ultimately leading to a stronger family unit.

Maya Abdominal Therapy with Jennifer Ingvoldstad, BCTMB
Mom 2 Mom Podcast
01/16/24 • 50 min
Jennifer is a Nationally Board Certified Bodywork Therapist, Abdominal Therapy Practitioner, CranioSacral Therapist, Massage Therapist, Shiatsu Therapist, Birth Worker and Yoga Instructor. She also uses cupping therapy and moxibustion when applicable. Jennifer has been in full private practice since 2003 and has also managed various wellness centers in which she created the wellness programs and services and trained the therapists. She also taught at the school she graduated from, Centerpoint Massage and Shiatsu Therapy School and Clinic.
Jennifer found her deeper passion for the effects of massage therapy when studying Maya Abdominal Therapy with Rosita Arvigo of Belize. Introduced to this powerful work through Kim Hart of Adagio Holistic Therapies in Minneapolis, Jennifer began her studies with Kim Hart and shortly after continued on with Rosita Arvigo. Her practice began to thrive with those seeking her expertise. A few years later, she travelled to Belize to further her studies and certifications in the therapy. She immersed herself in the culture, working and studying for 8 months. After returning home, she decided to return back to Belize to continue working and living. Feeling closer to nature and community through her lifestyle, she lived much of the next decade in Belize.
Now Jennifer has a thriving practice in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis where she first began her career in bodywork. She continues to feel most inspired by the Abdominal Therapy working with those on a fertility journey, during pregnancy, post partum, those transitioning through menopause, digestive support, those on a trauma healing journey, and chronic or acute pain patterns. She frequently combines therapies in her sessions bringing an intuitive touch to her sessions.
