Andel llegó de 21 años a Nueva York desde República Dominicana tras la muerte de su mamá. Emigró con un duelo gigante y durante su inmigración también experimentó duelos relacionados con el haberse irse de su país, como el duelo de haberse ido de su tierra, de dejar atrás a su familia, pareja, amigos, su trabajo, y profesión!
