Angenette Levy
08/11/22 • 63 min
Angenette is a reporter and anchor for the Law and Crime Network. Since her days working in local television, I've always found myself more interested in the stories she covers because of the way she covers them.
I knew nothing about the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial but got hooked on it watching her reporting. I talked with Angenette about what it’s like covering a celebrity trial, how she deals with celebrity superfans, and her experience covering the Steven Avery trial as well her reaction to that case being the basis for Netflix’s Making a Murderer.
We also discussed Angenette’s big career pivot and my grandmother's reaction to it, the insane story behind solving an Amber Alert live on air, and her little-known appearance on the The Late Show With David Letterman.
I love talking to people who know a LOT about something I’m mostly clueless about, and episodes like this are why I did this project.

Paul Daugherty.
No better way to launch a podcast than a long talk with a sports media titan. What it was like starting in Cincinnati during a Super Bowl run and the Pete Rose scandal, navigating relationships with some of the biggest athletes in Tri-State history, how the job changed, and the birthplace of the TML. What happened during the Bengals most recent Super Bowl run that told him it was time to hang ‘em up, his surprising new job, and how interactions with athletes changed over the years.

Cam Miller
I love talking with people who love what they do, about what they do. Northern Kentuckian Cam Miller makes films, and it's obvious that he loves making them.
I chatted with Cam about his latest feature, which is about the history of Riverfront Stadium, and in our conversation, you'll find out about which other Riverfront-themed films could be on the horizon.
More than anything, I wanted to talk with Cam about the process that's goes into making his films, the research involved, and the things he's stumbled into while making his films.
You'll hear Cam talk about what he discovered when he reached into the drawer of a desk that once belonged to Marge Schott, you'll hear an incredible story that involves a descendant of Ty Cobb, and you'll hear Cam talk about the time he was offered a chance to add "adult filmmaker" to his resume.
Plus, the project the NBA has gotten in the way off, his reaction to my ideas for future films, and the 30 for 30 he'd like to make.
This conversation was a blast to be a part of, and I think you'll like it even if you haven't seen one of his films, and even if you aren't much of a sports fan.
